1. LABIII – Amsterdam
Perhaps not the most common but perhaps the most extraordinary cinema on this list: LABIII in Amsterdam. In fact, this cult cinema is located in the basement of a former pathological anatomy laboratory! You get to see mostly film festival films, documentaries and other non-regular films here, but that’s what makes the experience extra special! And you can have some great food there, too!
2. Cinecitta – Tilburg
The oldest cinema in the Netherlands can be found in Tilburg. This is where you will find Cinecitta, where films have been played for over 100 years (since 1904!). Old classics, Filmhuis films, everything passes in review here. But all of high quality. And the atmosphere is wonderful, because this particular cinema seems to be in the middle of Italy. You can also eat excellent food here. There are even entire packages!
3. Pathé Tuschinski – Amsterdam
We will stay in Amsterdam for a while, but now a cinema where all the blockbusters are shown. Pathé Tuschinski in Amsterdam is by far the finest cinema we have in the Netherlands. Actually, it is not a cinema but a royal theater where films are shown and many film premieres are also held. The building opened in 1921 and the art nouveau interior has remained almost unchanged since then. It is truly beautiful! And that is why this particular cinema belongs in our list.
4. TheAnyThing at Pathé Ypenburg – The Hague

You also have really nice space that makes you feel like you’re watching a movie on your own lazy couch.
6. DOT Dome Cinema – Groningen
In Groningen, you don’t just watch movies: you’re in the middle of them! The DOT Dome Cinema (the word says it all) is a dome theater so the film literally takes place around you. It is the only 3D dome theater in the Netherlands where beautiful nature documentaries and scientific films are projected with 8 beamers. Truly a special movie experience! And DOT is also in a nice location. Definitely worth a visit!

Do you want to be pampered while watching a movie? Then you really have to go to CineLounge in Houten! Besides lovely seats with lots of space and pleasant soft twilight light, you will be spoiled for choice in this special cinema.
