Uit eten bij Restaurant De Matroos en het Meisje

If you want to eat out you can do anything in Rotterdam. On almost every corner, on every square and in every street you will find a restaurant or bistro. But how do you choose from this extensive offer? Simply by looking beyond the usual places in and around the center. For example, are you familiar with the Deliplein on Katendrecht? This used to be the ‘red light’ district of Rotterdam.

A bridge too far

A bridge too far? From Kop van Zuid you can walk across the Hoerenloper and onto Katendrecht towards Deliplein. Where the sailors moored to look for girls and find fun in the numerous bars and dance halls. It’s not that wild anymore (unfortunately), but nowadays you can eat out in several places around the Deliplein. Including at The Sailor and the Girl.

Restaurant The Sailor and the Girl

Here you get to eat what the pot calls for. You only have to indicate how many courses you want to eat (3,4,5,6) and the chefs do the rest. They create a new menu every two weeks with products that are on sale at the time.

Of course, you can also indicate which things you really cannot or do not want to eat, and they will make an equally delicious modified version.

A surprise until the last moment

Only at the table is explained what you will eat. Of course, the food comes with super tasty wines, which change every two weeks along with the menu. The nicest Sailors and Girls make sure that nothing is missing.

It can be quite busy at the Matroos so it is smart to make reservations in advance. See you at the Cape!
