In the heart of the old center of The Hague, in one of the most pleasant shopping streets, stands the Korzo theater. Behind its narrow facade is a light, intimate and quirky stage. Korzo has been a leading house for music, dance, theater and contemporary circus for over thirty years.
In addition, Korzo is one of the largest production houses for contemporary dance. Korzo invests in young talent and likes to make performances and events for anyone who looks further than their nose. So for people who are distinctly curious and feel like a ‘just-a-little-other-than-other’ evening of theater. Enjoy talented dance and theater artists, ensembles and bands from all over The Hague. As a bonus, you can meet artists from all over the world in the relaxed atmosphere of the Korzo bar.
Festivals
From modern to urban to Indian dance, Korzo organizes various dance festivals. The showpiece is the biennial CaDance Festival for modern dance in the odd-numbered years. In October there is the India Dance Festival, which has grown into one of the most important events for Indian dance and music in Europe. Together with Nederlands Dans Theater, Korzo joins forces to give up-and-coming dance makers the best possible guidance. In addition, with the annual dance event Here we live and now, Shortcuts XL and Up & Coming Choreographers , Korzo offers them a suitable stage to create new performances and present them to the public.
Family performances
Going to the theater with your kids? You can! Korzo presents exciting, moving and funny performances in all sorts of genres for the little ones. Korzo collaborates with Festival de Betovering and Lentekriebels, and twice a year organizes the circus weekend Cirque Mania. There are already performances for children as young as 4 years old.
Korzo on tour
From home base The Hague, talented choreographers work on new performances and bring them on tour at home and abroad. Usually as full-length performances, but also in exciting combination programs such as DansClick.
