Now that we can sit outside more and more often, we are picking up a good book more often there too. A nice feel-good book makes everyone happy. We have listed the best feel-good books of the moment for you. And you can order them right away at Paagman.nl. Handy!
Summer in a small bakery – Jenny Colgan
Jenny Colgan is best known for the Cafe Sun & Sea series (also very nice) but has now released a new series of feel-good books about a small bakery. Summer at the Little Bakery is the sequel to The Little Bakery at the Beach. These feelgood books about the life of Polly Waterford will bring a smile to your face no matter what. And whether you’re on vacation or holidaying in your own garden, Jenny Colgan’s books really get you away from it all. Little tip of the hat: she is also going to write books about a bookstore! Nice!
Against all odds – Charlotte de Monchy
Charlotte de Monchy also has many fine feel-good books to her name. Against Better Knowledge is her latest book and is about Lois who is sent to Canada by her employer to interview a former teen idol. Her intention is to write a book about his life, but once she gets there she finds that this Marius is not at all keen on that. Would she succeed in getting through to this stiff man? If you would like to read more books by Charlotte de Monchy, Enkeltje Ierland and Zes maanden zonder are also highly recommended!
The little store in Cockleberry Bay – Nicola May
Nicola May is new to feelgood land, but the fact that she is releasing three books in three months says something! Her book The Shop at Cockleberry Bay is a true British feelgood starring Rosa Larking. Part two came out on May 26 and part three just over a month later. So you can read on with this series! In these books you follow Rosa who inherits a run-down store. Only catch is that the store is absolutely not allowed to be sold. The titles of the other volumes are: I See You in Cockelberry Bay and A New Chance in Cockelberry Bay.
I want to go with you! – Jill Mansell
Jill Mansell is, of course, the queen of feel-good books. You’ve probably read one of her books before. In her latest book Delightful Lasts Lon gest, Lainey is all done with love and takes a job within a chaotic family in Cornwall. There she meets stepson Seth, who is quite cute but also has a perfect girlfriend. When everyone also seems to be hiding something, things get very complicated. Wondering how this ends? Buy the book!
What goes around comes around – Sophie Kinsella
Sophie Kinsella is best known for her books about shopaholic Becky, but she also writes stand-alones. And these books are just as enjoyable to read. In the book For what goes around, Fixie manages to save Sebastian’s laptop in a coffee shop after which he owes her. When Sebastiaan arranges a job for Fixie’s childhood sweetheart, the roles are reversed and things go from bad to worse. At one point, she even has to choose between herself and her family. Would Fixie finally dare to choose for herself?
The Stroopwafelshop – Astrid Harrewijn
Astrid Harrewijn has already written several feel-good books including a trilogy about three friends in a house. Her latest book is about Suze who gets the chance of a lifetime to start a syrup waffle shop in New York from nothing. What starts as a bet grows into something amazing. Super fun book about all the ups and downs Suze goes through on the way to her dream. The syrup waffle shop is definitely a must read to dream away in the garden.
