4 Restaurants with their own vegetable garden

Many restaurants these days have their own vegetable gardens. The food they get from this is not only very fresh, organic and delicious, it is also very sustainable. The stuff is already there and therefore does not need to be transported by road! In this blog, we introduce you to a few of these sustainable restaurants.
Restaurant De Dyck in Woubrugge
At Restaurant De Dyck you not only eat organic, you are also served the most beautiful fine dining dishes. Meat and fish are only added to the dish when they really add value. So most of what’s on the table is vegetarian, but you don’t even miss the meat! So many beautiful flavor combinations together! Ester recently had lunch here with her husband and they enjoyed it. You can read all about it in her blog.
The Greenhouse in Amsterdam
Restaurant De Kas is really located in a greenhouse. Everything you find on your plate in the evening has been freshly picked from the vegetable garden in the morning! So your food really is fresh as a bone. And is the product no longer available in their own greenhouse? Then it is taken from the restaurant’s second vegetable garden in De Beemster. So that too is very fresh and from our own garden.
Villa Augustus in Dordrecht
Villa Augustus in Dordrecht is a very special place. This is a hotel, restaurant, market and vegetable garden all in one! And also located in and around an old characteristic water tower. They try to eat as much as possible from their own vegetable garden. Is that not possible? Then the other products are bought locally. A very special place where you can also book a night away!
Orangerie Mattemburgh in Hoogerheide
In the North Brabant town of Hoogerheide you will find a beautiful estate: Mattenburgh. On the estate is Orangerie Mattenburgh and the old accompanying plant greenhouse has been transformed into a restaurant. The estate itself has been renamed “The Edible Estate” because you can eat delicious fresh food here. Forgotten vegetables, fruits, herbs and exotics…. Everything is available here. Now that’s enjoyment and then also with a beautiful view of the walled courtyard garden.
