5 x Fun resolutions for the new year

Just a little longer and it will be 2025! The new year is always the time for many people to make good resolutions. But honestly, how many people do you know who have kept their resolutions? Exactly, not that many. But why is that? Well, because they deprive themselves of something they have always enjoyed. Good food, a glass of wine or shopping. We have tips for fun resolutions that everyone can keep!
Exercise more in the new year
Many people start the year enthusiastically with an expensive gym membership. In January they go three times a week, in February only twice and in March only occasionally. Things often go wrong here because the person in question doesn’t really like sports at all. So first ask yourself honestly if working out at the gym is for you. Maybe you can think of better alternatives that you can keep up for a long time. Nice resolutions! Do you like to be outdoors? Then go exercise outside. And don’t start training for a marathon right away. First take your bike to work or go for a walk with a friend. Or clear your head on the beach or in the woods. I bet that is a lot of fun
Lose weight by eating less
Do you love good food and cooking? Then do you really think that eating less as a resolution will work for you? The answer to that is most likely “no.” You are much better off eating and cooking less. Get rid of the deep fryer and buy an air fryer. Substitute meat for a meat substitute and add more vegetables to your meal. Grab an apple or another piece of fruit if you feel hungry in between meals or have a handful of nuts as a snack. By eating more consciously, you will naturally lose weight. And drink more water, too. Not fond of water? Then add some lime, lemon or mint to your water. It will taste much better!
Spend less money
Another common resolution is that people want to spend less money on clothes, for example. In itself an excellent resolution, but not a fun one. After all, who doesn’t like shopping? Not spending any more money on nice things is not possible for the shopaholics among us, but you could agree on a monthly budget with yourself. Or go shopping at that cute vintage store around the corner. Who knows, you might come across some really nice acquisitions for a fraction of the old price. Also fun: shop in your own closet. Who knows, you might suddenly see new combinations that give you a whole new look!
Dry January?
You’ve probably heard of it: dry January. People who participate in this “trend” don’t drink a drop of alcohol in January. But what if your wine actually makes you happy? Then January is going to be a very long month. We all know that alcohol is not good for you, but a glass of wine on the weekend also represents conviviality. Limit your alcohol intake in 2024 to just that glass of wine on weekends or special occasions. Then your wine will remain special and you will enjoy it even more!
Me time: one of the most important fun resolutions
And now it’s time for the most important fun resolution: taking more time for yourself. How about making fun resolutions for 2024 that have to do with your well-being? Not by working out really hard, but by doing something fun. Do something creative, read a nice book, listen to your favorite music or binge your favorite series. Or start a course you’ve always wanted to start. Or meet up again with that friend you haven’t talked to in way too long due to all the busyness. Bet that feels good
