An evening of bouncing and climbing at Bounce Valley Delft
Are you looking for a fun night out for teens who are too old for the playground but still too young to really go out? Then Bounce Valley Delft comes highly recommended. On behalf of OpstapmetLisa, 14-year-olds Niels and Luca were invited here one Friday evening to bounce around for two hours. And honestly, they came out tired but satisfied.
A quiet start in the bounce hall
When we arrived, a large group—probably a kids’ party—was sitting at a long table, enjoying a hearty meal of pizza and snacks. Because of that, the bounce hall was still wonderfully quiet. Ideal, because it allowed the boys to explore all the features at their own pace.
And there are quite a few of them. The course includes Waves, Spikes, Stepping Stones, Pyramid, Wipe Out, Ninja Run, Slide, Climbing Wall, Free, Crossover, Last Man Standing, Catch the Light, Pillow Bash, Doomed Tunnel, and Crazy Balls. So plenty to do!
Straight into the fray at Last Man Standing
Where did Niels and Luca head first? Last Man Standing. There, they swung a big ball on a rope back and forth with full enthusiasm, hoping to make the other one drop it. That immediately sparked some healthy competition and a whole lot of fun.
Next, they tested their reflexes at Catch the Light. Then it was time to explore the rest of the course. The boys ran, jumped, and climbed around as if they were on an obstacle course.
Refuelling with unlimited lemonade
After a while, they started to get a little thirsty. We’d opted for unlimited lemonade. Each person gets their own cup and can pour as much (sugar-free!) lemonade as they like in four different flavors. Just what they needed after all that jumping.
It’s also nice that the indoor terrace with food and drink stands is centrally located and easily accessible. That way, they could take a breather in between with a drink and a snack, then get right back to bouncing, while I, as their chaperone, could keep an eye on the hall (as far as that’s necessary with a couple of teenagers…).
More Than Just Bouncing
While the boys were at the lemonade stand, they discovered there’s more to do than just jump. For example, there’s an 18-hole GlowGolf course: mini-golf in the dark. We didn’t have tickets for it, but it was still fun to take a quick look around. It’s definitely on the list for our next visit.
They also discovered the net obstacle course suspended at the top of the bounce hall. Here, you can balance your way through and over it, but also play with the big balls lying around. It’s a whole different challenge than on the air cushions.
A lively crowd
By then, the hall had gotten a bit busier, with a diverse group of kids between the ages of 12 and 18. A few adult chaperones also ventured onto the course now and then to have a little fun themselves. And you can’t blame them for that.
Challenges on Friday and Saturday Nights
What makes Bounce Valley Delft extra fun for teens is Bounce Game Night. Every Friday and Saturday starting at 5:00 p.m., the staff challenges the bouncers present at various times to join in a game, such as a round of dodgeball. Sometimes it’s all about speed, other times it’s about agility, teamwork, or a good dose of luck. In between challenges, you can just keep jumping.
Who would enjoy this outing?
By the time it was time to leave, the boys were completely sweaty and pretty exhausted. But they had an absolute blast. This is truly an ideal activity for teens who want to do something fun on a Friday or Saturday night but are still too young to really go out.
