Escapegame La Casa de Papel – participants’ experiences: Anke

For Corona we were invited with some of our readers to Escaperoom TIME in Utrecht for the exciting escapegame La Casa de Papel! Now we at OpstapmetLisa are big fans of this Netflix series which is already on its5th season and we are well into the story. Some of our guests were not familiar with this series, so they went into the game completely blank.
In this blog series we will let one of the participants tell how they experienced this escape game in which you have to use a combination of a room and a complete VR environment to search for codes and tips to finally crack the safe.
This time you can read about the experience of escaperoom fanatic Anke.
What were Anke’s expectations beforehand?
Anke: “I love escaperooms, so I was glad I got to go along! One of the elements I really love is that you can find clues in the craziest places. And at this La Casa de Papel escape game, I came into my own.”
What did Anke think of the game?
“The room where the game is played was subtly and beautifully decorated. And because the room is a combination of virtual and physical, communication about clues becomes even more important. ‘Are the physical circles the same as in the virtual circles?'”
The element of playing with your opponent in the same space and having to open the same locks is tension-boosting. ‘Does the gentleman from the other team just walk up to that locker or has he just cracked the code and the runs to his own table with his loot?’ Cautiously listening in on the other team is tempting, but not easy.
The guidance during the game is pleasant. The game leader stays in the room during the game and is alert and subtle in the hints if you don’t make progress. Without the roadmap, the room is impossible to crack, which is the consequence of the combination of physical and virtual.”
Greetings Anke
