Zeeland vanaf het water

Our guest blogger Yf loves to be on the water. She is a proud owner of her own boat with which she and her family prefer to go out as much as possible. Zeeland is one of her favorite provinces to explore from the water. But according to Yf, there are also a lot of nice and beautiful places on land. In this blog, she zooms in on some of her favorite boating routes and spots.

From the Volkerak locks to the Grevelingenmeer

Lake Grevelingen is a divers’ paradise. Here you can discover crabs, sea anemones and shipwrecks. As you enter, you pass beautiful marinas such as Jachthaven Bruinisse and Marina Port Zélande. Both are child-friendly and perfect for a family outing. Marina Port Zélande is also close to Brouwersdam beach and Center Parcs vacation park, an excellent base for biking, surfing and more.

Free moorings

On the islands in Lake Grevelingen there are free moorings, for which you need a card: €24.45 for 7 days or €95.70 for the whole season. This offers the opportunity to enjoy peace and nature.

From Lake Grevelingen to Colijnsplaat and Veerse Meer

At Colijnsplaat you can spot seals with a little luck. After the lock you reach the Veerse Meer, with Marina Delta Marina as your first stop. This child-friendly marina offers a swimming pool and lots of entertainment.

Veere, a picturesque town on Lake Veere, is a must-see. With cozy restaurants, outdoor cafes and plenty of water sports opportunities for children, such as sailing, surfing and canoeing, it is the perfect place for a family outing. The small islands in Lake Veere are ideal for a day of mooring and enjoying nature.

Veere

Via the canal through Walcheren to Middelburg

Middelburg is a bustling city where you can do great shopping, eat and enjoy the terraces. For the little ones, you can go to Mini Mudi. This is an indoor playground with attractions and small replicas of buildings. Abbey tower de Lange Jan is also worth a visit and a true chocolate lover should not miss Sjakie’s Chocolate Museum!

Middelburg

From Lake Veere to Kamperland

After Lake Veere, you’ll sail on to Kamperland, where you’ll find Roompot Marina. This child-friendly marina offers lots of entertainment and a swimming pool, ideal for families.

Zeeland offers lots of beauty from the water. From diving in Grevelingen Lake to seal spotting at Colijnsplaat, and from the historic charm of Veere to bustling Middelburg. So arrange a boat, hop aboard and explore Zeeland your way.

Have lots of boating fun!
