In November everyone starts thinking about presents for St. Nicholas and Christmas. A book is always nice to give and to get! But you can also keep them yourself, because this month we have found books about, or written by Dutch celebrities. Okay, maybe not the last one, but it absolutely cannot be missing from this list. You can order the books directly from your lazy chair at Paagman with the links on the titles. Handy!

Lekker lezen in november

It has been 10 years since Antonie Kamerling himself stepped out of life. His son Merlijn is now in his early twenties but feels stuck. He thinks this is because he did not actually know his father. He still cannot manage to look back at images of his father or read interviews. In his quest to find out who his father really was, Merlin visited friends and relatives of his father. His search is described in his book Now I See You.

Martien – Jan Dijkgraaf

Whether you think he’s great or terrible, everyone knows Martien Meiland. The former lord of Chateau Meiland always acts exuberant and cheerful, but there is also a very different side of Martien that few people know. Jan Dijkgraaf talks about it in his book Martien, after the television star of the same name. A must-read for anyone who wants to know more about this flamboyant man.

Jammers – Arjen Lubach

In Stoorzender by Arjen Lubach, the satirical programmer, comedian, writer and music producer gives a unique glimpse into his own life. The book is open, honest and personal. Sometimes funny, sometimes touching, but it reads wonderfully. Highly recommended!

Woman – Lucy Woesthoff

British Lucy is only 24 years old when she enters the life of widower Dinand Woesthoff and his infant son. For love, she went in search of the family’s grief and Lucy began to connect with Dinand’s much-loved late wife, Guusje Nederhorst. Years later, her book Woman was born: an ode to all women. An inspiring and moving book to read.

The Cage – Marcel van de Ven

Police expert Marcel van de Ven is one of the pioneers of secret police unit that infiltrates criminal groups. From De kooi, their high-security base, they made a unique contribution to the fight against murderers, terrorists, drug traffickers, robbers and kidnappers, among others. Lethal and important work, so that we can all go to sleep with peace of mind. The Cage is a wonderful book to give as a gift but also to keep for yourself!

A Life on Our Planet – David Attenborough

Who doesn’t know David Attenborough? The presenter of wonderful documentaries and also biologist can tell wonderful stories about nature on our planet. This is well reflected in his latest book A Life on Our Planet. Unfortunately, he has seen nature change drastically during his travels and of course he pays attention to this in his book, but without pointing an accusing finger. Great to give as a gift or to read by yourself!
