Haunted houses: Borgvattnet, Sweden

Due to the measures surrounding the coronavirus, there are almost to no outings to visit in the coming time. But we do want to make you happy with our blogs. Before joining OpstapmetLisa, I had a blog about creepy places around the world. I especially love the history behind certain houses and stories! Because our blog about real haunted houses in the Netherlands was read a lot by you, we are now making a series about haunted houses in the world. Because there is a lot of haunting going on all over the world….
Haunted parsonage
In the Swedish town of Borgavttnet in the landscape of Jämlands, you will find a parsonage that dates back to 1876. The place is bustling, and not even because of the living. Ever since 1927, the strangest stories have been circulating about this rectory. The pastor who lived there then already claimed that his laundry was pulled off the clothesline by an invisible force. But the pastors after him also complained bitterly about strange things. For example, things moved by themselves, they saw shadows on the walls, the rocking chair rocked by itself, and screams and cries were heard in the house in the middle of the night. All this while the pastors were alone in the house.
Ghost priest on the run
Tore Forslund, a ghost priest, would make short work of the ghostly scum in the 1980s. A year later, however, he left again. He had not made any progress. In fact, his presence only made things worse! It seems as if deceased parish priests move back into the parsonage after their death and continue what they were doing.
Bed-and-breakfast
These days Borgvattnet is a bed-and-breakfast. You can even rent the whole house. At least if you dare, because you have to be brave to sleep here. Often seen in the rectory is a woman in gray, and one guest got the fright of her life when she woke up in the middle of the night work and was stared at by three elderly ladies on a bench. When she turned on the light they were still there, only she could see right through them. People are also sometimes literally pushed out of their seats. So apparently there is something you don’t want there.
Would you dare?
Would you have the guts to spend a night in this bed-and-breakfast? I don’t know about that. But, if you have lasted one night in Borgvattnet, you will receive a diploma for bravery. That’s for sure!
