Liberation Festivals 2022

We had to wait two years for it, but festivals are allowed again! So too are the Liberation Festivals on May 5. As many as 300 performances will take place in 14 cities! In this blog, we take a look at some of these Liberation Festivals this year.

Liberation Festival in The Hague

On The Hague’s Malieveld you can enjoy all kinds of artists on different stages. The Liberation Festival in The Hague is part of the Hague Freedom Weeks. From April 15, there are already all kinds of events to visit. Think of the opening of the bunkers in Scheveningen, an Atlantikwall Walk, theater performances, films about freedom and a canal cruise. Liberation Festival in South Holland (Rotterdam)

The Park near the Euromast also hosts a Liberation Festival on May 5. Duncan Laurance will perform here on the Erausmus stage, among others! He is also one of the Liberation Ambassadors. The full program will be constantly updated, so keep an eye on the website!

Liberation Pop Haarlem

On May 4 and 5, the Haarlemmerhout will host Liberation Pop. Besides music, other fun activities will be organized, including activities especially for children. On May 5, artists such as Krezip and Suzan and Freek will perform.

4 and 5 May Amsterdam

Also in Amsterdam various activities are organized around the Liberation. For example, war films will be shown in the various Pathé cinemas and there will be a special performance, Mia’s Letters, at Theater Carré. Check the website for the full program. On May 5, a Liberation Festival will take place on the Meeting Island of the Gijsbrecht van Aemstel Park. While enjoying snacks, drinks and Caribbean music, the liberation will be celebrated.

Liberation Festival Brabant

The Liberation Festival in Brabant will be celebrated at the Pettelaarse Schans in Den Bosch. Duncan Laurence and Donnie will perform alongside many other artists. There is music for everyone’s taste and of course admission is completely free!
