Exploring with the kids at Buitengoed Dorrepaal

Do you want to let your kids “out” for a while and be able to sit back and enjoy a wonderful environment yourself? Then you should definitely visit Buitengoed Dorrepaal in Leidschendam. Dorrepaal is a country estate along the Vliet, at the height of Voorburg’s Kerkstraat. A beautiful country house with a very large and varied estate around it where the kids are really allowed to do anything!

When you arrive at the grounds, you immediately see the beautiful high mansion. If you walk around it you are immediately surrounded by flowers, shrubs, flower beds and grass. On one side a rabbit burrow, on the other side guinea pigs. A little further through a butterfly garden and in the back the children’s playground with in front of it and next to it terraces, pigs (they are called Geer and Goor…), goats and the gazebo where you can get something to eat and drink. The children can also feed the animals themselves. You can buy the feed from the Dorrepaal team.

Relaxing in the sun while the children playfully discover nature

So relax in the sun or under an umbrella and let your children romp and explore. Behind the playground is a real gnome garden with gnomes and smurfs. So you can let them roam around.

There are also regular activities organized by Dorrepaal’s team members. For example, the children are playfully guided around the entire estate at set times by one of the supervisors. When we were there, he wore a bee suit and had his guitar with him and whirled around with the children and kept singing songs about the part of the garden where the then were.

Buitengoed Dorrpaal is definitely recommended if you do want to get out of the house, let the kids get in touch with nature in a creative way, but also want to take a little break yourself. But children’s parties can also be perfectly organized here.
