Out and about in Safaripark Beekse Bergen

Are you also fond of animals? Then a day out at Safaripark Beekse Bergen is highly recommended! Together with my family I went there on the last day of the summer vacation and it was a great ending! Safaripark Beekse Bergen is known as the animal park of North Brabant with more than 150 animal species. The park is located between Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek. Those places are also definitely worth a visit.
History of the park
The safari park first opened its doors on June 1, 1968. It was not really a safari park back then. People could view the animals from their cars, but were more confined themselves at the time. At that time, there were only lions on display in the park. The park was therefore named Lion Park Beekse Bergen. The first two years it was a storm: everyone wanted to see the lions from their own car. There were even traffic jams! But after that period, the management of the park decided to make it more attractive and brought several African species to the park. In the year 2000, the Asia area was opened and several Asian species found their home in the park. It wasn’t until 2006 that monkeys were housed. Today there is much more to do than just watch animals from the car. It has really become an amusement park where you can spend the whole day!
Safari
At the park there are a host of safari options. Of course you can still do a safari with your own car, but you can also do a walking, bus and boat safari. And you don’t have to be a real daredevil to walk through the park, because then of course you go via the hiking route instead of the car route. The children have also been thought of. They can learn a lot from the raptor safari, can enjoy the Djambo show, go bowling and play on one of the many playground equipment. There is equipment for toddlers such as the toddler playground, but older children can also have a great time. Think of the assault course or adventure island! Besides the safaris and other fun attractions, the inner man is also thought of. There are several restaurants at the park, both for a quick snack and a delicious lunch. All in style, of course!
Birth okapi Zaire
Two months ago, for the first time at the park, an okapi was born. Her name is Zaire. This is quite special, because there are very few okapis. I got a glimpse of her, so beautiful!
Safari Resort
What is also very nice is that a resort opened at the park in April. At the Safari Resort you can stay in a lodge, a tree house or a safari tent. So you can literally sleep among the wild animals! At the resort there is plenty of entertainment. At Maji Springs you can swim in heated water and for the children there is a water playground. Relaxation and fun for the whole family! Maji Springs is only open to guests of the resort. For bowling, snacks and drinks, head to the Pamoja Lounge. If you stay at the Safari Resort, you have unlimited access to multiple parks, namely Safaripark Beekse Bergen, Speelland Beekse Bergen, Dierenrijk, Zooparc Overloon, Luchtvaartmuseum Aviodrome, AquaZoo Leeuwarden.
A great tip for the autumn vacations! 😉
Love,
Debbie
