Summer is coming again and what are we waiting for it! Spring is still very unsettled with low temperatures and frequent rain. And we are still in an unsettled period around Corona where we all have to stay home as much as possible. But hopefully the temperature will rise a little more and more in the near future, the sun will show itself more and more and we will get to go outside more! Fortunately, the Dutch beach bars have also received permission from the government to at least reopen their terraces, albeit modified. But where better to enjoy this summer than on the Dutch coast? We have therefore found for you the nicest quiet beach tents where after the lockdown you get the ultimate vacation feeling.

Hidden spots on the coast

Of course, every beach has its lovely quiet spots. But what is even nicer than that one little beach joint that is hidden from the general public? We found a few in Zeeland, but don’t tell on us, eh! In our opinion, these are the cutest quiet beach tents of 2021!

Surf et Turf

Not quite on the beach, but on the Westerschelde, is Surf et Turf in Hoedekenskerke. It is an old train car. At low tide, sandbanks are released in front of Surf et Turf, on which seals regularly enjoy the Zeeland sun. From the terrace you also have a great view of the shipping.

Zeecafé

After crossing the beach at Oostkappelse Duinweg, walk a few minutes to the right and you will arrive at Zeecafé. Owner Adriaan started a kind of sea container-with-fridge on the beach a few years ago. And that’s actually what the Zeecafé still pretty much is. Recently they also have a braai. Such a real South African barbecue, on which fish and meat are regularly roasted.

Slowcafé Aquarius

Aquarius in Vrouwenpolder is a small but fine beach house, exclusively “connected to the sun”. It is quietly located on one of Zeeland’s most beautiful beaches and is only accessible to beachgoers and watermen. Owner Paulien has the hat on here and when the wind is right Timko puts on his surf suit.
