The nicest high tea restaurants

High tea has been popular for years. Have a nice chat with friends, colleagues or your mother, while enjoying all kinds of delicious savory and sweet snacks. Nowadays high tea is possible everywhere and in all different forms. We have collected our favorite high tea locations for you.
Theetuin De Kwakel in Snelrewaard
Just outside Oudewater, you will find the village of Snelrewaard. Here, hidden away on a narrow country road you will find Theetuin de Kwakel. This tea garden is very popular among hikers and cyclists who enjoy an active day in the Green Heart. But you can also enjoy an extensive rural high tea here. You can choose from savory and sweet high teas and delicious tea, cakes and other snacks in a unique location. All this while the chickens roam around and the other animals keep you company. You can also buy all kinds of beautiful decorations there!
Le Cacao in Wateringen
Also in Wateringen you can find a special high tea location. Namely Chocolaterie Le Cacao. Here you can not only enjoy an extensive high tea with delicious sweet & savory snacks, but also a real high chocolate! This consists of various chocolate delicacies with various types of fresh tea. Highly recommended for the choc-aholics among us. Sonja tried Le Cacao herself and reports about it in her blog.
Hudson in Voorschoten
At restaurant Hudson in Voorschoten, you can enjoy a high tea with an American touch. At this American tea they serve various sandwiches, American pastries and delicious tea. But also a chocolate Oreo milkshake. If you want to join them later in the day, the high wine is also recommended. A selection of house wines is served with delicious appetizers such as lazy sunday nachos, a mini Hudson burger, a delicious primeval meat croquette and a tasty tomato soup.
The Bongaard in De Lier
Theetuin De Bongaard is a beautiful tea garden found in De Lier in Westland. A unique place with wherever you look cute brocante items that give the place its atmosphere. You can have lunch, dinner or just a drink as a pit stop during a bike ride. But you can also enjoy a delicious high tea here. But beware: This high tea is so popular that you sometimes have to make reservations 3 months (!) in advance to get a spot. Ester and Ingeborg already had lunch here together and tell about this special place in their blog.
