The perfect party outfit

A beautifully decorated tree with lights, a festively set table and candles and lights everywhere creating atmosphere. The whole story is completed with a beautiful hairstyle and festive clothes to make you shine extra bright! Stylist Karin Wagemakers of PSbyKarin gives plenty of tips for the most beautiful Christmas outfit in her blog.
Time to sparkle and shine
In my experience, Christmas and beautiful clothes are inextricably linked. As a young girl I couldn’t wait for Christmas Eve to wear my new Christmas clothes! Usually it was a dress. A special dress, one of those dresses that I could turn around in circles, so that it became all round and wide. The dress was of course very important, but what was even more important was the effect of the dress! A smiling face and sparkling eyes. I was beaming from it ✨✨. That is exactly what a perfect outfit does to you, it makes you shine, that is, your outfit is perfect if you shine in it! So I’d like to give you some Christmas styling tips to help you shine through the holidays.
Go for elegant black
Black is always beautiful these days. It represents elegance and is chic. Just be careful of sometimes black makes the face pale so adjust your makeup accordingly.
Try a jumpsuit (my personal favorite because it looks festive and off right away) or grab a nice pair of black skinny pants with a satin blouse.
Let it shine!
Velvet and satin are totally back. Stretch satin is not only elegant and luxurious, it is also very comfortable. And nice that it comes in so many colors, so you have a lot to choose from!
There is also a lot of velvet on display. Wide and supple pants often with matching jacket or top. Or a beautiful dress that falls beautifully along your body because of the fabric.
Glitter all Year!
Lurex and papillettes are now an integral part of fashion. So you can shine in them all year round. But with the holidays it’s extra fun! Nice over the top in a whole outfit or just a sequin top or a neat jeans heels and a nice jacket! (And for the tough ladies with a leather biker jacket😉). Do finish off with nice subtle necklaces!!!
Stand your ground (during the holidays)
Anyone who thinks a suit or tuxedo is only for men is wrong. A suit is very popular among women right now. Great during the day with a sneaker or sequin. It is also nice to wear it with a heel.
Super feminine and also a nice base in your closet, is a tuxedo suit. Chic in black or even creamy white.
Dress to impress
It is impossible to imagine your closet without the dress. Besides the must-have ‘the little black dress,’ there is also plenty of choice in beautiful long, wide, overlap, patterned and plain dresses!
Which one will you choose to shine in?
Back in fashion is the long boot worn under the dress. These also look great with the skirts you see a lot now. And that brings us to the last tip. (including from Ganni, Samsøe Samsøe).
Rock it!
The skirt, then. There is a lot of choice in this too. We see perky plaid skirts, supple wide short skirts and increasingly common is the pleated skirt. The lengths vary, but take one up to or over the knee. Not everyone finds this skirt easy to combine. A nice blouse with a belt is nice with it. But if you go for hip or comfi, combine it with a wide-fitting sweater (e.g. from Samsøe Samsøe, Second female, Modström).
Complete your outfit
Finally, an important tip that actually always applies to every outfit; Finish your outfit! Belts are totally trendy and perfect to pimp up a simple set! So even if you don’t like a real Christmas look. Buy some cute jewelry and wear them together. For example, three necklaces at once and a few bracelets. Nice jewelry from Anna Nina, By Nouck or My Jewellery. The belts from Trezz have beautiful buckles in gold and silver.
Happy holidays and may you look radiant and sparkling!
