There is nothing more relaxing than a good read. Before, I actually always chose books by foreign authors, but did you know that we have super many good thriller writers in the Netherlands? If you have never read any of them, this list might soon enrich your bookcase. Because, very conveniently, you can order the books that appeal to you directly through Paagman.nl. By the way, you can find many more books at Paagman on Frederik Hendriklaan in The Hague!

North Cape – Nathalie Pagie

A delightful thriller is Noordkaap by Nathalie Pagie. Nathalie already has quite a few thrillers to her name and she is far from finished! In this book, the frozen corpse of a man is found in Norway. The police are puzzled.

When traces of a plant found only in West Africa are found on the corpse, alarm bells go off. Professor Aauge Haugen goes to investigate and stumbles upon a secret scientific experiment starring ten top criminals.

Labyrinth – Esther Verhoef

Esther Verhoef has accommodated no less than 13 exciting stories in her thriller Labyrinth. One story is even more exciting as the other. Ideal for people who have no patience for a whole book, but still like to read.

So don’t wait any longer and go read the stories Labyrinth, Dead Man’s Ride and Dirty Hands. Esther Verhoef also has many books in the thriller genre to her credit. Last year, for example, she released the thrilling book Façade. From such a topper!

Winterberg – Kiki van Dijk

Kiki van Dijk is a pseudonym of a well-known Dutch writer, but which one it is is kept well secret. In Winterberg you will read the story of three girlfriends, one of whom disappears without a trace.

The police very quickly assume a fatal accident, but journalist Frank, who also happens to be staying in the same hotel as the missing Rose, doesn’t trust it and goes to investigate. A delightful, easy read away thriller.

Spring Fire – Suzanne Vermeer

Suzanne Vermeer is the pen name for author Paul Goeken, who died in 2011. His family continues his work and therefore new books by him are still appearing. Such as Spring Fire, in which Julia goes on vacation with her niece and friend to the Czech Republic, to the place where she often spent vacations as a child.

But once they get there, something terrible happens. Julia hits a young Czech woman who falls into a coma. The woman turns out to be a close acquaintance of her grandmother. Was it an accident or is there more to it?

When I was dead – Loes den Hollander

Loes den Hollander already has 25 thrillers to her name and Toen ik dood was is her latest. It is a psychological thriller that reads smoothly. Maryan did not see it coming at all that her husband Floris wants a divorce after a marriage of ten years. According to them, the love between them is gone, but soon it turns out that Floris had another woman. Thaïs Brederode and her husband Tony also separate and he too has another. When both men disappear without a trace, Maryan and Thaïs find out that their husbands led a double life and that it went much further than they could have imagined.
