At the high-tea at Believe in Delft

Blogster Ester, along with her sister-in-law, recently took her mother Anneke out for a high-tea at Believe. It was a very successful and delicious afternoon. Anneke tells in this blog how she enjoyed it.

Mother’s day high-tea

This past Mother’s Day I was invited to high tea with my daughter and daughter-in-law. What a nice Mother’s Day gift! They chose the high tea of Believe in Delft. Originally this was a fish restaurant, but nowadays it has become a lunchroom and delicatessen where you can also get high tea. My daughter-in-law does not like fish, so we inquired in advance if that was a problem. Fortunately not and to our surprise the whole menu was adapted to that. Super!

Upon entering, we were warmly and hospitably received and taken to our table. This was a cozy high table by the window. All three of us were given our own teapot and could choose from a variety of teas. We were given an asparagus soup beforehand and the etagere full of delicacies was set out.

The high tea dishes

There were quiches, sandwiches with carpaccio, caprese and delicious marinated chicken. But also vegan empanadas with a light spice in them. Sweets were not missing either. Chocolate rolls, different flavors of cannoli, muffins and the most delicious Pastel de Nata from the wide area! Everything was delicious, but also quite a lot. We did not manage to eat it all, but we were very kindly given what we could not finish in a box to take home. That way we could let the people back home enjoy it a little bit… 😊

Everything was very well taken care of and tasted delicious. I can recommend this to everyone and will definitely go back myself to try the high tea with fish dishes.
