To the high wine with your girlfriends

A few years back we all went full high tea. A concept that blew over from England and was modernized and commercialized. Not that we are complaining about that, because nowadays you can enjoy the most creative small bites in combination with the most diverse flavors of tea at all kinds of nice restaurants.

High Wine

But meanwhile another trend has been going on for a while now: the high wine. Drinks are a bit out and are mostly linked to being together with a drink among colleagues. But if you just want to catch up with friends and be a bit hip, a high wine is the thing to do. There are nice places all over the country where you can enjoy delicious snacks and matching wines. Of course we searched for the nicest high wine locations and made a list for you:

Delft

At Sevenhills in Delft you can go for a delicious 3- or 4-course high wine. At the 4-course option you are pampered with small desserts with a matching dessert wine. Sevenhills is also a cozy location to visit, so a great place for a high wine with friends!

Leiden

In Leiden we also found a nice high wine location. Aan de Rijn is nicely located along the Rhine (as the name suggests) near the shopping center of Leiden. At this high wine you choose three wines from the menu and they serve the most delicious appetizers with them.

Rotterdam

In Rotterdam there are many places to enjoy a high wine, but Nostra has stolen our hearts. From two persons or more you can come and enjoy beautiful wines and perfectly matching dishes.

Utrecht

In Utrecht, we ended up at Ubica. This Grand Café used to be a squat, but there is nothing left of that! You can even enjoy high tea in the old wine cellar! If that’s not atmospheric we don’t know what is. Besides the delicious wines (they really know their stuff) they serve the most delicious snacks. You can order an extensive or a very extensive high tea.
