Spookhuizen Attractieparken

If you like horror you have probably already read our blog Real haunted houses in the Netherlands. But if you are less tough-minded, you can also visit a haunted house in an amusement park. Because those are especially fun and exciting! Just check the park’s corona rules in advance!

Haunted museum in family park Drievliet

Drievliet Family Park has a haunted house in the form of a so-called “darkride”. This involves sitting in a cart and being taken through the attraction as it were. Definitely exciting for children because there are scare effects. My son (that was 5 years ago) cried on my lap, but he is not very brave. Because of this I did not get much out of the attraction myself, so I have to go back again soon.

Haunted castle in Julianatoren

Julianatoren also has a ghost castle similar to Drievliet’s Ghost Museum. Only this one is three times as long and also has a bit more decoration. Moreover, you sit in a train and not in separate carts. For this haunted castle, as with the Haunted Museum, the attraction is already somewhat dated. So there are not really special effects which makes the attraction not really scary. This makes it suitable for children!

Fright Night – Walibi Holland

Every year around Halloween, Walibi Holland offers horror for the advanced. The whole park is then transformed into a large open-air haunted house. Of course it is also possible to have a scare inside. During Fright Nights there are no less than 4 different haunted houses to visit. Advisory age is 16 because it is quite intense for children who are younger. If you want to make your day of horror complete you can even book an entire dinner. But it is not yet certain whether that will be the case this year because of the Corona measures, so keep an eye on the website!

Nightmare Motel – Bobbejaanland

Nightmare Motel

Just across the border in Belgium, they also know how to scare well. Nightmare Motel in Bobbejaanland opened in 2016 and should really be seen separately from all the other attractions. You have to pay a €5 entrance fee beforehand, but it is definitely worth it! After all, Nightmare Motel is not just an attraction but is more like an escape room combined with a classic haunted house. In some rooms you have to look for a key that gives access to the next room. But beware! Because everywhere, real actors are trying to scare the hell out of you!
