Visiting the Christmas show at Intratuin Duiven

Back in October, Intratuin Du iven opened their Christmas show Christmas World. The Christmas show at Intratuin Duiven is known as the largest Christmas show in Europe. And of course, a visit to this special Christmas show had been on our list for quite some time. This year it was so far! In this blog we will tell you all about it!
Duiven is about a 2 hour drive for us and we had already understood that it can be very busy. We therefore chose to plan our visit on a Tuesday morning and get in the car at 8 am. Just before 10:00 am we drove into the parking lot, which at first glance was already quite full. So the first spot I saw, I jumped right in. Ready to go exploring. Fortunately it turned out that it was not very crowded inside, so we had plenty of time to look around.
The first floor
Upon entering, we had a chance to look around the garden center section with outdoor plants. Soon after, we ran into a large collection of artificial Christmas trees, many of which were also beautifully lit. This lighting continued into the subsequent section of the first floor. The most beautiful lights, ornaments and figures were displayed here.
Only to find ourselves in a complete Christmas world filled with various Christmas villages, trains, bridges and miniatures. Spread across several rooms, we encountered multiple worlds. From Dutch villages, Christmas squares and ski slopes to a Halloween town and even an entire Efteling world. Between the different themes you could walk across bridges so you could really admire the miniature world from all sides.
Restaurant
By now we have arrived at the restaurant and decide to take a break. Luckily it is not yet busy here either, although we hear from the staff that it is calm before the storm. They are fully equipped for this, because everything is already ready and the coffee, tea and sweets are constantly replenished, which makes the queue go by quickly. We sit down at a table with a delicious cappuccino and a large piece of apple pie with whipped cream. After this pleasant interruption we move on. Because we are very curious what awaits us on thefirst floor.
The second floor
At some point we came across the escalator going upstairs. This escalator alone is a magical experience that makes you feel like you are entering the world of Harry Potter. On the second floor, again, there are different rooms to visit that are all on different themes and styles of Christmas decorations and ornaments, right down to an entire Disney section. We really feasted our eyes everywhere. Our plan was to just stop at looking this visit, but when I came upon the section with Christmas decorations in shades of blue, I couldn’t contain myself. Fortunately, there was a pile of shopping baskets right there for me to grab. 😊
Garden Center
After our tour of the second floor, we returned to the first floor by escalator to continue our route. This was the regular section of the garden center where we could browse among beautiful interior items, lamps, candles and other accessories, ending up in the houseplants section. I am always through on the garden center and can never really restrain myself from buying something. So it’s no surprise that in the end my shopping cart turned out to be quite full by the time we got to the checkout.
