Spring is just around the corner! Although it is still quite chilly, it is already very nice to get a breath of fresh air on the beach. Especially on a beautiful beach! And we have plenty of them in the Netherlands. In this blog you will find our favorite Dutch beaches.

The most beautiful beach of Zeeland

Michelle, one of our guest bloggers, loves to go to Zeeland. She knows like no other where you can find the most beautiful beach in Zeeland. According to her, it is Domeinen 2, because besides a beach, this is also a beautiful nature reserve. Domeinen 2 is a real family and sports beach. The beach of Ouddorp

Ouddorp aan Zee is located on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee which officially belongs to South Holland and with its 17 km of beach has a lot to offer. Ouddorp is located both on the North Sea and the Grevelingenmeer, which is also ideal for families with small children. Nature lovers will also be very happy with Ouddorp. Namely, you can enjoy hiking in nature reserve Meinderswaal (also called the Waterwingebied). Water sports enthusiasts can go to the Brouwersdam, because there are plenty of sports there.

The beach of Kijkduin

The other day, during a beautiful winter day, we walked to the sand motor at Kijkduin near The Hague. When you do that, you have to be careful, because it is possible that you will be trapped by the sea due to the tide. A harmless, shallow circle will form around you, but without wet feet you won’t be able to get away. Around the sand motor it really is like being all alone in the world. So really worth a walk through. In ideal conditions there is also plenty of kite flying and kite surfing.

The beach of Bergen

Bergen aan Zee is really a place to fall in love with. Throughout the year this is a beautiful place where you can do a lot. Get a breath of fresh air on the wide beach or enjoy the view of the Dunes of Schoorl: the highest and widest dunes in the Netherlands. Besides beach and dunes, Bergen aan Zee is surrounded by trees. You can enjoy walking and cycling here all year round. Bergen aan Zee also has many cozy beach bars, including several permanent ones, so you can always warm up with a nice, warm drink.

The beach of Ameland

The Wadden Islands are also a great place to be all year round, such as the beach on Ameland. This beach is no less than 27 kilometers long and is known to be incredibly clean. You can do all kinds of things there all year round, such as hiking, horseback riding, surfing, kayaking and land sailing. There are 4 permanent beach pavilions on Ameland’s coastline where you can take a break. So once you visit Ameland, don’t forget to go to the beach!
