The Drielandenpunt in Vaals is on the border of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The border pillar shows you exactly where you are. At the Drielandenpunt there is plenty to do. Children can participate in a scavenger hunt in the maze! And that maze is quite spicy! But that’s not the only thing there. A little further on is an observation tower where you can do a real skywalk. That is also great fun for kids, because it is quite high and therefore quite exciting.
Fairytale forest Valkenburg
Are you near Valkenburg with young children? Then a visit to Sprookjesbos amusement park is highly recommended! This is a large playground with additional attractions such as a 7D cinema, a swing ship, a mini roller coaster and a carousel. In hot weather, cooling off in the water playground is a must and don’t forget to visit the fairy tale characters in the fairy tale forest. Truly a fun outing for children in South Limburg!

Under Maastricht is an entire cave system that was once created by human hands. Sandstone was mined here for centuries. Nowadays the caves can be visited: a fun an educational outing, also for children! There is a Kidstour for children between 8 and 12 years old and a Children’s Cave Tour for children between 4 and 7 years old.

Mergelhoof nature playground
Located at the foot of the St. Pietersberg you will find Nature Playground Mergelhoof. The children can take advantage of the natural slope of the landscape, hide in the bushes, build huts and much more! In warm weather, the swimming pool is opened. The pool is nowhere deeper than 50 cm, so it is ideal for smaller children. So, cool off in safety!
Barefoot path in Brunssum
Shoes and socks off! In Brunssum you will find a barefoot path of 4 km. This path is suitable for children from 3 years of age and well to do for anyone with good mobility. Besides the walk, there are also several obstacles you can do. For example, there are obstacles over the pond, there is a maze and there are several shelters. Bring a towel and have fun!

Is your child crazy about climbing and clambering? Then Adventure Park the Plateau in Brunssum is really a tip for an exciting day out. Perhaps not suitable for the very youngest children, although the minimum age is 5 years. GaiaZoo
Kerkrade is home to GaiaZoo. This zoo is not only special because of the more than 1500 animals you will find there, but also because the park is located in the hills of Limburg. This makes it just a little more special than other zoos in the Netherlands. They also often organize fun activities such as scavenger hunts.
Hoensbroek Castle
Children can be prince or princess for one day at Kasteel Hoensbroek. The castle won the national Kidsproof award in 2023. Children can do and experience all kinds of things there. There is a KaSpeelTocht, there are regular extra activities and be honest: a visit to a medieval prison is always fun!
