Aircraft spotting in AvioDrome

Children soon know how to entertain themselves. Especially if there are climbing and scrambling attributes. Whether it’s a climbing frame or their own father or mother. They like to climb and preferably as often as possible. Sometimes I get a little tired of going to the (indoor) playground only to supervise while they play. So once again we went in search of an outing that is great fun both for the kids and for us ‘big people’.
This time we discovered airplane museum Aviodrome and it is definitely recommended for young and old alike!
Planes, planes and more planes
At Aviodrome, the focus is on airplanes. But in all shapes, sizes and forms.
When you enter you find yourself right in the main hall. Here is the restaurant and a play area for the children where they can move themselves through a baggage belt like living luggage. So nice climbing, scrambling and sliding.
A journey through history with real planes
Directly adjacent to this hall is the museum. Here you are led through the history of the airplane. From the origin of the airplane, the developments over the years, the forms of use, space travel, to today’s commercial use with recognizable companies such as MartinAir and KLM.
Outdoor activities for the kids and big planes for us
Once you are through the museum, there is another whole outdoor area. Here you will also find a lot of play opportunities for the kids. A small playground, as well as small planes that they can ride around on by themselves and an airplane monorail. But you will also find a lot of interesting things for yourself. You can walk through the Boeing 747, various fighter jets and other (military) aircraft. Also, on the adjacent runway, you can watch different planes take off and land, and you can experience a flight yourself in a simulator that lets you fly for a few minutes.
A fun day out for the whole family!
Our children had a great time. Of course especially in the play equipment aimed at them, but also because they were allowed to sniff around, climb in every plane and sit on everything, while we immersed ourselves a bit more in the background stories of the origins and developments of aviation.
Definitely a must visit, with or without children!

Who knows, maybe we’ll go exploring too and you’ll help us and our readers get new inspiration!
See you soon,
