A cozy evening out at Wine Bar & So
Our generation (the over-35s…) remember it. Sometime from the age of 16, you went to the pub with your regular club of friends in addition to going to the disco. There you would drink a mix or a glass of sweet white wine. Fortunately, our taste buds have developed over the years and we can now really enjoy a delicious glass of dry white wine or a full-bodied red wine.
Instead of going to the pub, nowadays you can enjoy delicious wines in a wine bar. We recently got to know Wijnbar&Zo in Alphen aan den Rijn and explored its overwhelming assortment.
Wine in the shopping street
You will find Wijnbar&Zo in the cozy Julianastraat. When the sun shines, you can sit here on the terrace and enjoy a delicious glass of wine while observing the people passing by in the shopping street.
When you take a seat inside, you can choose between different corners and seating areas. Do you prefer to sit a little apart with a friend so you can chat extensively? Or do you like to connect with other people? Both are possible. But even if you have something to celebrate with a group or want to have a drink with colleagues, there is more than enough space and opportunity to find a nice spot.
Lots of wine
On the menu and around it, you can choose from no less than 250 different wines, most of which can be ordered by the glass. So you can treat yourself to a top wine such as a Sancerre, Barolo or Gran Reserva. But there are also delicious champagnes and even cocktails and Gin-Tonics. When we visited Wine Bar&Zo, we took delicious glasses of wine and self-mixed Aperol Spritzes.
Delicious appetizers to go with drinks
When you really only drink wine, you automatically float toward the exit…. So it is not only tasty, but also wise to enjoy a tasty appetizer in addition to your wine. For us, a delicious overflowing drinks board was prepared with tasty sausages and cheeses. But if you’re craving a slightly bigger bite, you can choose from a variety of tasty finger foods.
