The finest fireworks shows of 2023

The year 2023 has flown by again! Just a little longer and we will celebrate New Year’s Eve again with its oliebollen, conviviality and fireworks! Now of course you can set off fireworks yourself, but you can also visit a fireworks show. We went looking for the most beautiful fireworks shows in the Netherlands.
The National Fireworks
The National Fireworks will take place this year at three locations in Rotterdam: on the Erasmusbrug, Hoek van Holland and Nesselande. From the Boompjeskade you have the best view of the show on the Erasmusbrug, the Hoek van Holland fireworks show is best viewed from the Koningin Emmaboulevard and from the Siciliëboulevard you can best see the Nesselande New Year’s Eve fireworks show. Entrance is free!
The National Children’s Fireworks
The little ones are not forgotten at the National Fireworks. This year there is another edition of the National Children’s Fireworks. This event will be held at the Kop van Zuid. Because small children usually cannot stay up until midnight, this is a super fun alternative to other fireworks shows. New Year’s Eve starts for the kids as early as 7:10 p.m.! Admission to the National Children’s Fireworks are free, but a limited number of New Year’s Eve tickets are available. You can purchase these tickets through Eventix.
New Year’s Eve Party at Museum Square
Amsterdam is also celebrating the December 31 countdown to 2024 during the Oud & Nieuw Feest on Museumplein. Electric Fireworks is Amsterdam’s premier fireworks party. Admission is free, but be there on time because full = full. Setting off fireworks yourself is not allowed in Amsterdam. The party on Museumplein starts at 22:00 and there will also be several artists performing. Children are welcome from 18:45 for the fun kids show!
Fireworks show in The Hague
For a while there was talk that the fireworks show of The Hague would not take place on the Hofvijver but on Wijk-en Sportpark De Verademing in the Regentessekwartier. However, due to resistance from local residents, it has been decided that the fireworks show on New Year’s Eve will take place on the Hofvijver after all, despite the renovation work.
Fireworks show in Tilburg
Tilburg will have a complete ban on fireworks this year. Fortunately, residents of Tilburg and the surrounding area will be able to enjoy organized fireworks shows at Piushaven and the Reeshof. At both locations there will be a fireworks show for children starting at 19:00. Besides fireworks, there is also a spectacular laser show.
