Dining on the heath at Restaurant Tafelberg

I always enjoy discovering new places. Now the other day my brother-in-law had a birthday and celebrated it at Restaurant Tafelberg. I had never been there before but was pleasantly surprised!
What a nice place it is!
Restaurant Tafelberg from teahouse to restaurant
Restaurant Tafelberg appears to be a household name in Blaricum. I soon discovered this when I looked into it a little more. They also started out as a teahouse, grew from there to café, from there to restaurant and now since 2005 a real eating and drinking place.
Next to the moors
The location of the restaurant is fantastic. You can eat here on the heath. In fact, it is right next to the vast moors. And we were lucky: the weather was beautiful and the heather was already cautiously coming into bloom. You go through the gate and you already imagine yourself in a completely different world.
That makes the restaurant a great base after, for example, a long walk with the dog (because he is also welcome) or after a ride on the moors with your horse. In addition to a normal bicycle shed, there is also a horse shed.
Parties and events
Our visit to Table Mountain Restaurant was for a party. For this you can go there just fine. Besides the 200 seats on the outdoor terrace, there are also more than enough seats in the restaurant itself.
It is also possible to organize a separate room. Reservations are recommended. Especially in the summer it is very busy. You can also celebrate your wedding here, but only on weekdays.
The restaurant
I would definitely like to visit the restaurant itself. It looks attractively modern and has a very approachable and welcoming character. The menu features tasty and hearty dishes like rib-eye, burgers and duck breast.
But there is also plenty for the fish lover like dorade, salmon terrine or the fish of the day. They say the dishes they serve are prepared with fresh and honest products and the menu also takes into account vegetarians and little ones.
Child-friendly
Because of the heath and forest, the restaurant is also very suitable for children. At least we didn’t see or hear the kids all afternoon. However, they did come back covered in scratches, twigs and leaves because they had been building huts furiously.
So they also had the time of their lives!
Also fun when the weather is not so good
Inside it is also very cozy. So don’t be discouraged if the weather is a bit bad. If it is cold but dry, you can go out on the heath and warm up with a hot chocolate afterwards! What more could a person want?
See you soon,
Sonja
