Nice shopping in The Hague and surroundings

We have created a new blog series for you in which shopping plays the main role! In this blog we take you out shopping in The Hague and its surroundings!
The Hague inner city
The shopping spot par excellence in The Hague is of course the Haagse Binnenstad. I personally like this place, although I always have the feeling that it is not quite finished. People are always working on something. That can give a somewhat messy impression to outsiders. Tip: find the peace and quiet! Shopping center Noordeinde is attached to The Hague city center, but it has a very different atmosphere. The stores there are also a bit more upscale. Of course, the Passage is also a must, because it is beautiful. Did you know that people live above the stores in De Passage? Totally fun are the stores and terraces of De Haagse Bluf. Among other things, you can enjoy culinary delights there at the Foodhallen, but the roof terrace of Grand Café Haagse Bluf is also a great place to hang out! You have to climb a few stairs to get there, but it’s worth it!

More fun in the Hague city centre
Another fun shopping street is Lange Voorhout, which flows into the always lively Denneweg. Here you will find stores like Madeleine Lingerie and O my Bag. The Oude Molstraat is also nearby. In these streets you will find nice terraces and unusual stores. It is all just a little bit different. Thanks to the beautiful buildings it immediately feels very different, almost foreign. Combine your visit to the Hague city center with a visit to the Pathé Buitenhof (opposite the Binnenhof) or settle down on a terrace on the renovated De Plaats (also opposite the Binnenhof). Near the Amsterdam Veerkade you will find the Hague’s Chinatown district. You can eat really delicious food here. Around the Hague Binnenstad are beautiful historic buildings such as, of course, the Binnenhof, Noordeinde Palace, the Mauritshuis and the Gevangenpoort. Except for the Passage, the stores in the Hague Binnenstad are not covered.

The Frederik Hendriklaan
Shopping on Frederik Hendriklaan, or De Fred, is always a treat. This shopping center in The Hague’s Statenkwartier district is chic, but in a cozy and casual way. Besides the well-known chain stores, you will find small special stores where you can find the most beautiful gifts and sweets. Of course you can also find fresh bread, tasty meats and the most delicious cheeses.
The Hague Market
Maybe not your first choice when you go shopping in The Hague for the day, but definitely worth a visit. The Hague Market has become a Hague concept and is also the largest market in Europe! Because The Hague is very multi-culti, you will find all kinds of exotic products here. Sometimes even products you may never have heard of. But you can also find clothes, shoes and bags. You really feel like you’re at a bazaar somewhere far away from here!
Shopping by the sea
Kijkduin, on the beach, has been completely renovated. New Kijkduin is still under construction, but it will certainly be beautiful! The boulevard is completely renewed and soon all new stores and cozy restaurants will appear. And that right by the sea, what a wonderful place! One of our newest locations Breeze Boutique will soon open its doors here. Their beautiful summer clothes, shoes and bags are already widely available in their webshop. For those who want to shop at the beach right now, visit Scheveningen’s Palace Promenade. And while you’re there, don’t forget to visit the Pier. Here you have a beautiful view of the sea and you can also enjoy good food and shopping!
Shopping in the Westland
The Hague is located near the Westland. This is the horticultural area of the Netherlands, but in Westland you can also enjoy shopping. Here you will find many boutiques and unique stores. You can also enjoy a terrace and recover from all the shopping. Our guest blogger Ingeborg, who lives in Westland herself, previously wrote a nice blog about Shopping in Westland.
The Westfield, Mall of the Netherlands
Just a stone’s throw from The Hague you will find Leidschendam. Shopping center Leidschenhage used to be a popular base for people from The Hague and its surroundings for a day of shopping, but since the renovation it has become even more so! The Westfield, Mall of the Netherlands is mega-sized! You’ll find lots of different stores, restaurants and a big cinema. If you want you could spend the whole day here.
