Prison Escape: how we experienced it

Saturday, May 11, it finally happened: we got locked up in Breda’ s Koepelgevangenis for the reallife game Prison Escape!

The queen of escape rooms

Although, an escape room is far too derogatory a name for Prison Escape. An escape room is often a room where you are locked up and you are only released when you solve difficult puzzles within a certain amount of time. The Prison Escape is very different, for it is a real experience. An experience not easily forgotten.

Well organized

From the moment we parked the car in the garage we were welcomed by the Prison Escape team. At the exit there were employees of Prison Escape with a sweatshirt with the text “Jailbird” on it who guided us in the direction of the parking garage, the bowling alley (where we could take a pee) and the assembly point. So well organized!

All “criminals”

We had all been sentenced to prison, so you are curious to know who you are all dealing with. The participants were very different, for example, you had several bachelor parties, girlfriend clubs, students and colleagues who had a company outing. The weather was beautiful, everyone was curious and a tad tense, as the entire activity shrouds itself in great mystery. The Prison Escape team knows how to protect its story so well that you have no idea beforehand what to expect and what will happen.

Nervous

The Prison Escape you do together with a lot of people. Namely with 420 participants and 80 actors. There were six of us, but soon the prisoner numbers showed that we would not stay together. That did make us a little nervous. Also, the actors were totally into their roles, so you didn’t get it into your head to disobey. You know it’s all part of the experience, but still….

Experiencing it yourself

Because the Prison Escape team wants to give each visitor their own experience, we too are not allowed to give away anything about what happens behind the prison walls. What we can say is that tips, trades, corruptions and traps lurk from all directions. So keep your eyes and ears open and make sure you connect with the right people. The only way to experience Prison Escape is to experience it for yourself.

Very impressive

Afterwards, all we can really say is that it was great and the time flew by! Five of us eventually managed to escape, but it was accidental for two of us. So you also have to be a little bit lucky. And whether you got out or not, this experience will not be taken away from you!

So we did not experience this experience alone: Ingeborg, Birgit, Cristel and Desirée were also there. Right after the game was over, we asked everyone for a first reaction:
