Loetje, steak at its best

We have known for years that Loetje is a household name. Especially in and around Amsterdam. A steakhouse restaurant with multiple establishments of which not one is the same, but the quality and taste of the steak is! But besides serving delicious meat, Loetje has not been idle on a higher level either. In fact, Loetje has expanded considerably in recent years.
Besides Amsterdam, you can also visit Loetje in Bergen, Breda, Breukelen, Gorssel, Laren, Leeuwarden, Nijmegen, Rotterdam and Utrecht. And in Overveen you can even find a Loetje with hotel! But also recently a Loetje opened in Almere and halfway this year Loetje The Hague will open its doors. So by now almost the whole of the Netherlands can eat at Loetje.
Loetje at the Amstel
One of my favorite Loetjes is still Loetje aan de Amstel. From time to time I visit a concert in ZiggoDome, Arena or HMH. Then I like to eat at Loetje aan de Amstel beforehand. After all, it’s only a 13-minute drive from this restaurant to the Arena Boulevard. So you can have a nice meal in a cozy restaurant and still be on time before the show starts.
Loetje aan de Amstel is located on the Amstel side, in an old atmospheric building. Both their inside and outside is attractively set up and gives you a spacious feeling even though it’s almost always packed.
They are known to fill up quickly so it is always smart to make a reservation. But if you are on time, you are always welcome because they never book the restaurant full. Later in the evening you do run the risk of standing in line, but fortunately they have a nice bar and you are welcomed there with a drink to wait for your table to be ready.
The restaurant
You can eat here inside but also if the weather permits outside on the terrace. It is a large but cozy place. In the middle is the bar and around it on all sides are different types of tables and seating. You can sit high, low and at the bar. Whatever you want and where there is room. The menu is clear, but offers something tasty for everyone.
The food
I’m not a steak lover myself, but the tuna sashimi and sole are also delicious here! And fair is fair, the quantities you get on your plate ensure that even the construction workers among us leave the door with a well-filled belly.
My husband is a real meat lover, though. His favorite is the steak Bali, in which he barely licks the gravy off the plate with the bread you get with it.
