Unfortunately, we are still in lockdown in February as well, at least until March 2. And it is getting harder and harder to come up with fun things to do, but luckily you have OpstapmetLisa where you can get plenty of inspiration for fun activities or to make it cozy at home. Also for this month we have another blog full of tips for you, where of course we also looked at spring break. Because even though the kids are fine at school now, just a little more and they will have a whole week off to do fun things! But what!

Out and about with the family

We have been looking for fun things to do with the whole family. Because there are still quite a few things you can do! How much fun is it to tour with your family in an ugly duckling? That is possible at: Duckling Tours Westland. You can do a tour with your own household, but also with another party, as long as each household is in its own car. You will be sent out with an itinerary and guided around the beautiful Westland. Besides enjoying the scenery, there is also a goal. The children will be given a bingo card to recognize all kinds of objects along the way and be able to cross off to get BINGO!

It is also fun to take a fun boat trip with the family, for example at Rederij Loenen aan de Vecht. Cruises can be booked through March 31, 2021. A cruise lasts at least 2 hours and includes catering. You can make a booking through the website of the shipping company for a day and time of your choice and immediately choose the catering you want.

And of course a nice walk with the family is always good! De Hoge Veluwe National Park is a nature park with over 5,000 hectares of forest, heathland, grassy plains and sand drifts. You can endlessly enjoy the peace and space here and your kids can have a blast! Choose a route on the marked trails or using described routes. And maybe you will meet one of the red deer, mouflon or wild boar that roam freely there. Want to hike in a different environment? Then read the blog series Cycling and Hiking in the Netherlands. Here you will find plenty of great hiking tips throughout the country.

Active

For those who like more active activities, Poldersport De Kwakel is open as usual. Poldersporting takes place in groups of max. 4 persons and it is outdoor sports so completely coronaproof. Ideal to be active with the whole family, a few friends or with your own group of friends.

Now that we want to stay active, but the gyms are still closed, you can also exercise online with a trainer! Plus, it’s super flexible because you don’t have to go to the gym and if you include your kids in the online workout you don’t have to motivate them to get moving for once. And is also fun with the whole family!

From home

For the people who want to stay inside, but want to do something fun, we have found a fun online escape room Quest Escapes. With this game you can play an exciting game with your friends/family from your living room. We also found fun livestreams that you can watch at home and is also very entertaining! You can read about those in my previous blog: Online livestream from home.

Are your kids a little smaller? Then do some crafts with them. In the blog Crafting with children Sonja gives plenty of tips to get creative with the little ones.

Delicious food from the drive thru

Another thing that is very popular now are drive thru’s. You have them in different types. We found some nice ones for you: ss Rotterdam Drive Thru, yes , that special ship/hotel/restaurant in Rotterdam. This drive thru is completely coronaproof. While you wait for your ordered dishes, you drive your car past several containers on the quay. These containers will tell you more about La Grande Dame, its history and much more! How fun is that! You can pick up food daily from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the month of February.

Do you live in Brummen and love pancakes? Then take a ride through Reuvershoeve‘s drive thru. They have set up their food truck for you where you can pick up their delicious pancakes from the car from Thursday through Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Besides the delicious pancakes, they also have slow smoked spare ribs and other delicacies from the smoker for you on the menu.

And now hope that we really are in the tail end of the Corona pandemic and can really get out and about together again in the spring!
