Feel good boeken

January is not the coziest month of the year. The cute Christmas decorations are put away again, the parties (however sober this year) are over and the wallets empty. And then we are also in the middle of the second lockdown! High time to get some cozy books in the house because with these feel good books you just slip into someone else’s skin. Also handy: you can order the books directly from Paagman! They will deliver the feel good books to your home!

Much Love! from Beth O’Leary

Much Love! is a brilliantly found feel-good, at least we think so. Tiffy, 27, has unexpectedly become single, doesn’t have much money and needs a place to live urgently. Leon, 27, works night shifts as a nurse and could use an extra penny. In short: Leon sleeps in his bed during the day when Tiffy is at work, and Tiffy sleeps in that same bed at night while Leon is at work. They never see each other, but they have established house rules and things are actually fine that way. Until unpleasant things happen in their own lives that make the bills they write to each other every day more and more personal. But how can you fall in love with someone you’ve never met? On Good Luck by Jenny Colgan

Feel good

Nina is a librarian and always knows exactly which book someone should read. A book against heartbreak, a book against loneliness: Nina knows what to do. But when the library has to close and Nina finds herself out on the street, the books don’t help her. Or do they? She decides to take a big step and opens her own special bookstore on wheels. With her book bus, she drives across the Scottish Highlands to deliver books to people who don’t have a bookstore around the corner. But sometimes life runs a little differently than you might hope. Fortunately, her handsome but grumpy landlord manages to rescue Nina from all sorts of awkward situations. This first part of the trilogy about Nina and her book bus is available from January 12 at Paagman. Order Op Goed Geluk here.

The L of Love by Kate Clayborn

Most feel-good books are somewhat predictable in nature. But the book The L of Love certainly isn’t! The book is set in the city of New York, so you even go on a little vacation while reading. And that’s wonderful now that you can’t in real life for a while. In this book we follow Meg, who, among other things, makes beautiful wedding cards for wealthy clients. When she has to design a wedding card for an upcoming couple during an assignment, she immediately has her doubts about this wedding. Secretly she incorporates her doubts into the card and she assumes no one will notice. Until a year later, the groom is suddenly in front of her…. Order The L of Love here.

The Little Tea Shop in Tokyo by Julie Caplin

feel good boeken

Apparently cozy little stores do well in the feel-good genre. Which is nice, because shopping is out of the question for a while. In The Little Tokyo Tea Shop, travel blogger and photographer Fiona can’t believe her luck when she wins a trip to Japan. At the airport, however, she gets an unpleasant surprise: she is not being picked up by Yutaki Araki but by a man who broke her heart ten years earlier! Fortunately, he doesn’t recognize her, but these are going to be tough weeks. Fortunately, the host family where she is staying is fantastic, though. They have their own tea shop and Fiona learns all about Japanese tea ceremonies and way of life. Order The Little Tokyo Tea Shop here.

The Village of Happiness by Holly Martin

Cute villages always do well in these books, too, and we savor them! The Village of Happiness is the first volume in the Happiness Series and is about Willow who is in need of a fresh start. Her relationship has just ended and everyone seems to have an opinion about it. When she sees an ad to live for free for a year is the village of Happiness comes along she grabs her chance. However, it all turns out to be too good to be true. The idyllic village turns out to be in a sorry state. But Willow doesn’t give up, nor is she alone. Order The Village of Happiness here.
