Fun in the greenhouse

We are all familiar with the glass horticultural greenhouses scattered around the country. Especially in Westland there are many of them. It is great fun and educational to take a look at them. After all, much of our food comes from them. But many more fun things are organized in greenhouses. We have collected some of those fun acticities for you.

Through the greenhouse

The event Dwars door de Kas (Cross through the Greenhouse) is being organized on May 21 and 22 in the Westland region. The nice thing is that you can do this event while walking, cycling and on a scooter. To connect the different greenhouses, large planks have been laid across the ditches. This way you can complete an entire course! Fun for the whole family! Due to the closing time of the greenhouses, it is only possible to start your tour before noon. So it will take you a while!

Come into the greenhouse

Kom in de Kas is always organized in April. The next edition is scheduled for April 6 and 7, 2024. Greenhouse growers at 13 different locations in our country will be happy to show you around their greenhouses. Here you can learn everything about this profession. Kom in de Kas has been a household name for years!

The Greenhouse in De Lier

Looking for a super fun outing? Then De Tuinderij in de Lier (Westland) is highly recommended! De Tuinderij is located in a huge greenhouse complex where you can do all kinds of crazy activities. Think of Plankgas door de Kas: a crazy race with mobility scooters and the WC-Pot Race “Ja kan de Pot op!”. But you can also take fun Solex tours and E-Kickbike tours from here. And how about bicycle sup? You can’t think of anything crazy or it’s possible here!

Spring fever in Kwintsheul and de Lier

No, this has nothing to do with elementary school education. De Lentekriebel is in fact a greenhouse! Here you can buy the most beautiful bedding plants from our own greenhouse at a great price. The De Lier branch is open all year round and the Kwintsheul branch from February to October.

Live it up at Pavilion de Zweth in De Lier

At Paviljoen de Zw eth you can really do all kinds of things. From mini golf to boating, from (water) cycling to survival. Everything is possible, whether you are young or old. And in the greenhouse you can relax with a nice snack and drink. The little ones can enjoy the indoor playground. You will not get bored here!
