3 tips to better organize your free time in 2025

The new year has begun and that traditionally means that we have all started with our New Year’s resolutions. Although most people give up after only a few weeks, it is good to take a critical look at other things and think about yourself more often. We don’t always think about it, but without realizing it, we are often lived most of the time, instead of being able to decide for ourselves what to do and where to go. Now, of course, there are situations where it makes sense for this to happen, such as when you have children or a busy job. Nevertheless, we would like to give you some tips, so that you know how to organize your free time (even) better.
Make sure you plan well
It sounds so obvious, but we still find it difficult to plan our free time well. It is important to first set some goals for yourself, so that you know what you would like to use your free time for. Now, you don’t always have to know exactly what you want to do, and spending an afternoon on the couch is no problem either, but it is useful to make a plan for yourself. Suppose you would like to spend more time with girlfriends, of course this will not happen automatically. You will see that if you start working with a calendar, for example, you will find it a lot easier to make appointments. This will not only make you much more effective with your time, but it will also make it more manageable.
Set priorities
A common problem in scheduling free time is that there is too much on our plates. We feel obligated to accommodate everyone and in the process lose sight of ourselves. It is important to prioritize and learn to delegate. Determine for yourself what is really important and what adds value to your life. Also, it is really not necessary to do everything yourself and your children, partner or others can ‘solve’ some things for you. Suppose you have just bought a new electric bicycle with a front-wheel motor, but it has been sitting in the garage for a month because you haven’t found the time to take it to the mechanic, then it’s not a bad idea to ask your adolescent to do it for you. That way you will have more time for yourself and can do fun things!
Do something you like
When we talk about free time, for most it means that they finally have time to do chores that would otherwise linger. Complete nonsense if you ask us! This time is meant for relaxing! So always do something that you enjoy and that gives you energy. That basket of towels that still needs folding can wait for one day.
