5 x fun winter activities for January

The holidays are over but January certainly doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, there is plenty to do this month. We have searched, found and put in this blog the best winter activities for you! Happy January!
Nice skating
Unfortunately the Christmas markets are already gone, but many ice skating rinks are still open this month. That’s enjoying! Our blog nice skating at the nicest skating rinks lists all our favorite skating rinks. So the skates can stay around for a while longer! Ice skating is one of our favorite winter activities though. And maybe we can skate on real ice this winter!
Tough ice karting
Ice karting is just like regular karting but on ice. Sounds logical, but it is a very cool experience. The ice track at Icekart Rucphen-Breda is 300 meters long and technique is more important than speed. You just shoot out of the corner faster! In the hall it is standard -2 degrees, so dress warmly. The ice kart track is located in SnowWorld Rucphen-Breda and you drive in sessions of 10 minutes. You drive laps of 40 to 50 seconds.
Admiring ice sculptures
The most beautiful ice sculptures can be found, as every year, in Zwolle. The Nederlands IJsbeelden Festival can be visited until March 5. Put on your warmest clothes, because it won’t be warm there! But how beautiful are all those sculptures made of snow and ice! The tallest work of art is a whopping 6 meters high! The best ice artists in the world are coming to Zwolle to show their work. But you can also visit Scheveningen until January 22 to see beautiful ice sculptures. Art in Ice may not be as grand as its big brother in Zwolle, it certainly is! These are real winter activities!
Light in the dark
The days are getting a little longer again in January, although you won’t notice it much at first. Therefore, take a walk with beautiful works of light art. Go to Amsterdam, for example, because there you can enjoy the Amsterdam Light Festival until January 21.
To the vacation fair
Those who prefer to leave winter behind can go to the Holiday Fair in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht from January 11 to 14. Here you can get into the tropical atmosphere. Will you immediately choose a vacation destination or do you want to taste the atmosphere? You can do both! And how much fun is it to dream away about a beach vacation on a sunny island? Or a culinary trip to Italy? What will it be?
