Hiking in Overijssel
We start right off with a tough but beautiful 17.7 km hike. The Woeste Route Sprengenberg requires sturdy shoes, but is well worth all the hard work! A shorter but also beautiful route is the 3.8 km Walking Route on Landgoed de Snippert, between Losser and Oldenzaal. If you come in the right season (from the end of August) you walk through a bright purple colored heathland. A nice route close to the German border is the 8.6-km Walking Route Het Witte Veen. Do you like history? Then the Historic Eerde Walking Route is definitely recommended! This route is very doable at 10.8 km. In and around Ommen there are some “mountains” to be found. Super fun to walk! Take for example the Archemerbergroute of just over 12 km. If you have good legs and feel like taking a brisk walk, then the 18.5 km Rondje Borne is really fun.
Hiking with the whole family
Out and about with small children? Then the 2 km tour of Oerrr is really ideal! You pick up the walking route at Pannenkoekhoes De Stroper and from there you walk the route at your own pace. This route is 2.4 km and introduces you and your family to this cozy city. Do you prefer to look for nature? Then the 3.1 km Nature Path Route is fine! An adventurous route for the whole family is the Boot Trail at Bezoekerscentrum de Wieden. This one is just over 2 km, so it’s ideal with younger children. The Family Route The Sprengenberg Sallandse Heuvelrug is, as the name suggests, suitable for the whole family. At 1.16 km, it doesn’t seem like much, but you’ll visit beautiful places and to top it off, you can also enjoy a regional lunch at the Oerrr Playground.
