Escapegame La Casa de Papel – participants’ experiences: Marianne

At the end of August we and some of our readers were invited to Escaperoom TIME in Utrecht for the exciting escapegame La Casa de Papel! Now we at OpstapmetLisa are big fans of this Netflix series which is already on its5th season and we are well into the story. Some of our guests were not familiar with this series, so they went into the game completely blank.
In this blog series we will let one of the participants tell how they experienced this escape game in which you have to use a combination of a room and a VR environment to find codes and tips to crack the safe.
This time you can read Marianne’s experience.
What were Marianne’s expectations beforehand?
Marianne: “I have played an escaperoom game before so I thought beforehand that the La Casa de Papel escape was more based on the traditional escape, i.e. real escape. Which you end up doing, but each in their own virtual world. Of the VR environment as an addition to the game I didn’t really have a clear idea. But that’s really very cleverly done.”
What did Marianne think of the game?
“I thought it was a surprising escape with La Casa de Papel theme. You don’t have to be a Netflix junkie of this series to be drawn into the game. The intro alone is very cool and so is the atmosphere you breathe in from the entire space of La Casa de Papel. The VR world works very strongly with the real world, where everything is interconnected.
What is also very nice about this escape is that you directly compete with another team. This is because the different teams are in the same room, (which by the way is big enough to keep enough distance from each other as well as from the game leader, who is also in the room and keeps an eye on things). You feel the hot breath on your neck.
The presence of the game leader also definitely added value. He made sure to keep the competition high and supported us to deal with the VR world. By the way, a recommendation is also to have the whole team go into the VR world, because it is very nicely done and must be seen by everyone at the very least. We spent almost 2 hours and the time flew by.
Furthermore, good welcome, top explanations and nice location where you can park in front of the door!”
Worth repeating!
Greetings Marianne
