Fine dining at World Restaurant Together
At the end of 2018, World restaurant Samen opened its doors on the Brasserskade in The Hague. A beautiful restaurant, ideally located along the highway with private parking. They work according to the all you can eat concept. But in such a way that all cuisines from all corners of the world are represented. Enough reasons to try this restaurant for yourself.
Something for everyone
Together with my mother and sister-in-law we went to eat at Restaurant Samen. Upon entering we were immediately very warmly greeted. They work at Samen with an all-in price. Not only the food is all you can eat, but also your drinks. It was a little uncomfortable for us that this meant we had to pay in advance at the cash register. The lady at the cash register inquired how long we expected to stay. We estimated it at 2.5 hours and paid for that. Owner Jason Hu was then waiting for us to show us around briefly, explain and take us to our table.
The restaurant
The restaurant is very large, but because there are several corners, partitions and high backs placed, you don’t experience that massiveness at all. It actually seems like all of them are just little restaurants that come together in the central area near the kitchens and buffets.
Besides the standard tables for parties of 2 to 6 guests, they also have several beautiful tables for large groups. Large round tables, robust straight tables and even a giant oval table that I think could easily seat a party of 25.
An extensive buffet with delicious dishes
After first taking a good look around from our seats and having a drink, we walked toward the buffet. This one is very spacious and you can walk around completely on two sides, so you won’t easily get in each other’s way. We saw delicacies like soups, appetizers with roast beef, fish, ham, bread and salads. But also a whole buffet full of all kinds of different sushi.
And the desserts also caught your eye immediately, making you aware that you shouldn’t eat yourself completely full or else you’ll miss all that deliciousness.
On the other island, the cooks are ready to prepare a delicious piece of meat or fish for you on the spot. Here I saw tenderloin, bacon, chicken and steak, but also sea bass, scallops, prawns, salmon, sole and much more.
Around the corner was a very European buffet with stuffed mushrooms, zucchini, beans, potato gratin and a large selection of prepared meats. A little further on was the Asian section with various oriental dishes and a wok section.
Freshly prepared meat and fish at the live cooking
It’s too much to try all in one evening. We started with a small appetizer that we composed ourselves. My mother and I then opted for a delicious plate of sushi and my sister-in-law for a fragrant sole.
After that, I myself went wild on the freshly prepared fish and feasted on the prawns and scallops. To top it off, I made another small plate of the European and Oriental buffet. Just to taste.
Dessert Heaven
Then it was time for reflection. Just sitting down with a drink to let the food sink in before going full bore on the dessert buffet. And what beautiful and delicious desserts we found there. All three of us had our plates full.
We had a nice evening in a beautiful and cozy restaurant with good food. Definitely a must to have a nice dinner and taste a bit of everything. For us a successful evening and we would love to come back again!
