Glow golf: a really fun outing!

During the Christmas vacations, we wanted to do something fun with our eight-year-old son. We wanted to do something that the three of us could actually do together. Since we already bowl quite often, we thought it would be more fun to go miniature golf. And not just any mini-golf but Glowgolf in Capelle aan den IJssel!
Glowgolf Capelle
We ended up at Glowgolf Capelle aan den IJssel, because that is easy for us to drive to. There are many more Glowgolf locations in the Netherlands. You can find them in Scheveningen, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Weert, Middelburg, Eindhoven and Houten. We called in advance to check if we hadn’t chosen a very busy period, just before lunch. But that was no problem at all, so off to Capelle!
Friendly reception
This establishment is located in a kind of industrial area where there are really plenty of parking spaces. There is also a roller skating rink in the same building. Also super fun! Glowgolf was on the second floor. We were kindly welcomed and given a luminous bracelet to wear. All three of us were also allowed to choose our own luminous golf stick and ball. Even the pencil lights up! The course itself is also all fluorescent and therefore enchantingly beautiful. The course has different themes that you go through, such as the sea and the jungle.
Lots of challenges
The track itself had a nice amount of challenge. This makes it fun for older children and adults as well. There weren’t many people playing golf at the time we were there. There was a children’s party going on and a few more people came in after us, but we didn’t have to wait anywhere, nor did we feel rushed. During busier periods, they do indicate at the front desk that the maximum number of strokes per section is 6, but now we could quietly go up to 10, which was sometimes necessary too!
A nice drink afterwards
Afterwards, the ticket included a nice cold drink. We deserved that! You can also eat well there, but we decided to eat at McDonalds further down the road to make the day out complete. Anyway, the kids from the children’s party were eating good fries. What’s also nice: they had decorated a white cap in advance which made them extra noticeable on the track. You can also choose to decorate a t-shirt.
Different arrangements
We have already touched on the children’s parties. You can also expand the children’s party with an escaperoom for kids. To make it even more exciting, you can also choose to do the Glowgolf in 3D. You will get 3D glasses. You can also book a whole package for adults. Nice for a company outing or a bachelor party. The Glowgolf can be expanded with the Fifties Party Room including karaoke machine and interactive game screen. In cooperation with the adjacent all-you-can-eat restaurant it can also be expanded with a complete menu!
Highly recommended
We will definitely go to the Glowgolf again, but maybe rollerblading as well. They also sometimes have an 80s party! Super fun!
