I love the sun anytime, anywhere. But I have two most favorite months in a year. May and September. May because that’s when, after a long wait, we finally get to really enjoy the spring sunshine which seems like a promise for summer. And September because then I am grateful for the last warm rays of sunshine of the year. Delightful. Just relaxing on my own porch, but preferably on the beach.

Enjoying the September sun on the beach

Especially in September, the sun on the beach is the most beautiful. When you have managed to enjoy a sunny day at the beach, end your day there too. Take a seat at a beach bar for a sumptuous dinner. And when you sit back and relax with a cup of tea or coffee, look out over the Dutch North Sea, where you can watch the sun set. Wonderful! There are many fine beach tents on the Dutch coast where you can fill in this picture for yourself. We wrote about this in detail earlier this year in our blog series The nicest beach tents of 2020.

Take a long walk on the beach

But even when the weather is not so good, you can enjoy the beach in September. Take a nice walk on the beach with your girlfriend, boyfriend or family. Dream back to the beautiful summer that is already behind us and make some plans for the coming year. Or just clear your head on a windy day. The Netherlands has beautiful stretches of coastline for lovely walks. Read about it in the blog Relaxing on the beach and walking in the dunes.
