Water teeth at chocolaterie Le Cacao

My best and especially oldest friend (we’ve known each other for 36 years!) turned 40 at the beginning of the month and of course that had to be celebrated! She decided not to celebrate at home, but at chocolaterie Le Cacao in Wateringen. There a delicious high tea was waiting for us.
Le Cacao Chocolaterie
Le Cacao is a small store on the Plein in Wateringen. I had never been there before. In fact, I didn’t even know this store was there! Always fun such a new discovery. The center (or should I say village center?) of Wateringen is very cozy. There are nice stores and the atmosphere is cozy.
Le Cacao is opposite the old town hall and that is really an eye-catcher. This store is a real artisan chocolate shop. The smell of chocolate meets you when you open the door inside. It makes your mouth water.
Small but nice
There were a total of ten of us, which took some fitting and measuring. After all, the store is not very big. But once everyone was seated, it was also fine. Besides all kinds of chocolate, they also have a lot of loose tea. A few varieties were given to us for the high tea, but we were also allowed to pick out other flavors in the cupboard if we preferred.
First the savory snacks
All those chocolate smells had of course made everyone crave chocolate, but we had to wait a little longer. First the savory snacks arrived on the table. There were different sandwiches and a quiche. Someone at our table was vegetarian and that was taken into account. Everything tasted very good. In the meantime, regular customers of the store came in.
Some of them left with beautifully wrapped gifts. So highly recommended if you are looking for an original gift!
Finally! The sweet bites!
I have a real sweet tooth and although a few pounds may be off for the upcoming vacations, I won’t let this pass me by. It all looked delicious. There were macarons, chocolates, homemade nougat and chocolate raspberry cake. Paired with the tea (the favorite was the green pink lady tea), it all tasted delicious. Behind the counter is the chocolate workshop and there the ladies were hard at work. Super fun to see.
Just browsing around
After the sweets and many more cups of tea, it was time to get up. We all had a good look around the store though, because there was a whole chocolate wall. Full of Easter eggs of course, because this is totally the time of year for that. We really enjoyed the high tea.
Definitely recommended for any chocolate lover!
