Christmas vacation tips for teens

The Christmas vacations are almost upon us! This vacation is often dominated by holidays and family fun, but something has to be thought of for the other days. Our intern Noa has come up with fun tips especially for teenagers. Because parents sometimes have a little more challenge to keep them busy. Looking at a screen all day is not very wise either, so we are happy with these tips!
All done? Bake away!
Make tasty Christmas cookies, cupcakes or a delicious cake. On the Internet or in baking books you will find plenty of tasty recipes. In the supermarket you can find all the ingredients and get started! Another advantage: you and your family can enjoy it afterwards! Does your creation come out of the mold a little different than expected? Then the fun won’t be any less! Tip for angry parents: afterwards, tidy everything up in the kitchen.
Sell your old stuff
Clothes you no longer want and stuff you never use anymore? Put them up for sale! After all, throwing them away is a waste and not good for the environment at all. You will be surprised how many people will give your things a second life. Well-known selling sites such as Marktplaats or Vinted are very easy to use and very popular. So big chance for success! Photograph the items you want to put up for sale. Add a nice text and who knows, maybe your items will be sold for a nice price. You will have space in your room and money to buy Christmas presents.
Have a little party!
Organize a small Christmas or New Year’s party! Stock up on some tasty snacks and drinks, get yourself a nice glittery outfit, put on cozy music and you’re done! Just be sure to ask your parents.
Find a fun job
Maybe you already have a job: then get a good job! December is an expensive month! Most employers like it when you ask for extra hours. And if you don’t have a job, start looking for one! You have plenty of time during the vacations and often many people are in demand during this period.
Do something fun with your friends
Go out with your friends this Christmas vacation! Visit a fun shopping district or stop by a museum. For example, an Instagram Museum! And eating out somewhere nice (lunch, dinner) isn’t wrong either. And of course the Christmas markets are coming again! Those are also fun to visit. Ice skating together is also a fun and cozy winter activity. Or stay at home and watch a (romantic) Christmas movie. There is plenty on offer in the near future!
Lend a hand around the house
In case you are really bored during the Christmas vacations? Then take over some chores from your parents. Chances are they just have to work during the vacations. How nice is it then that you have taken over some household chores? Even if it’s just vacuuming the living room, unloading the dishwasher or running a small errand at the supermarket, you will definitely score points with your parents!
