Tapas & Vino event at Destino in Rotterdam

Earlier this month, we were once again surprised by a true taste explosion during the Tapas & Vino event at Destino in beautiful Rotterdam. We were taken on a culinary journey through the sunny streets of Spain, surrounded by delicious wines and delectable tapas. And yes, we are happy to share our experience with you!

The place for epicureans and wine lovers

Tapas & Vino is a wonderful collaboration between Tapas restaurant Destino and the ladies of the Wine Wives. Together they create an unforgettable palette of flavors, where the wines come together harmoniously with the mouth-watering tapas, all lovingly prepared by Destino’s passionate team, led by owner Reinbert.

A warm welcome

Our journey began on Sunday afternoon, where we were warmly greeted upon arrival and led to our table. The flavor chart and wine review list were already waiting for us, immediately raising our expectations. Barbara from the Wine Wives opened the afternoon with her welcome speech and soon we were immersed in the world of wine and tasting techniques.

The wines and tapas dishes

The feast of flavors began with sparkling Cava and a pintxo Mojana. Followed by an Albarino with delectable mussels and a Garnacha with a traditional Spanish croquette. The transition from white to red brought us to a Vino de la Tierra Cadiz, accompanied by the beloved pintxo classico. A sublime Rioja danced with a juicy piece of steak in the next round, and the afternoon ended with a surprisingly delicious aged sherry and a piece of blissful manchego.

An enjoyable gathering

But it wasn’t just the delicious food and wonderful wines that made this day unforgettable. It was also an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company surrounded by friends we see far too little. The Tapas & Vino event turned out to be the perfect occasion to get together, catch up and enjoy the good life.
