Visit the Cheese Market in Gouda

Every year from April to the end of August, Gouda hosts its weekly cheese market. Farmers and traders engage in old-fashioned hand-to-hand competition for the best cheeses at the Market of Gouda.
Cheese, cheese and more cheese
The market square is filled with cozy stalls where you can taste and buy delicious cheeses of all flavors and sizes. But of course there is more. At the weekly crafts market you can buy all kinds of different regional products. And around the square it breathes plenty of life on the cozy terraces.
Besides cheese eating fun and educational activities
There are also several activities to do for young and old. For example, you can have yourself weighed in cheeses in the Waaghuis the Goudse Waag. You can take a tour of the center with a horse and carriage and have it explained to you exactly how the process of cheese making works. They even let you see and taste it too. For the children, there are fun cheese games such as clog catching, cheese yo-yoing and butter-cheese-and-eggs.
Poffertjes, stroopwafels or a nice lunch
And when you get hungry, just pop into one of the surrounding brasseries or feast on a delicious portion of poffertjes at the poffertjeskraam or a delectable freshly baked syrup waffle from the Siroopwafelbakkerij.
