Your own home cinema

Now that the evenings are getting longer, it’s time to get cozy at home. We’ve already given you some tips in our hygge blog on how to bring the atmosphere into your home, and Sonja regularly treats you to the cutest book tips with her book blog series.
But especially in the weekend we find it cozy to crawl on the couch with our own household with a big bag of chips, popcorn or a real cocktail plate and watch a movie together. In other words, your own home theater.
In this blog we give you a few tips of movies you can watch via Pathé home, Netflix or other home theater channels.
The Weekend Away (2022)
Two girlfriends go on a weekend trip to Croatia. Only one of them survives the vacation. Before long, the nightmare gets even worse when she is suspected of murdering her best friend. As she tries to clear her name and find out the truth, her efforts uncover a painful secret.
The Silencing
As you already get by, I personally like a little thrill and suspense and I’m not averse to some murder and mayhem either. Do you recognize yourself in that? Then The Silencing is highly recommended. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (yes exactly, the one from The Game of Thrones) is a hunter who teams up with the local sheriff to hunt down his daughter’s kidnapper. It will be a blood-curdling cat-and-mouse game because the man they are hunting is a cold-blooded killer. You can watch The Silencing on Pathé at home.
Senior Year (2022)
Do you love humor? Then Senior Year is highly recommended! In this film, a 37-year-old woman wakes up from a coma after 20 years and returns to high school where she was once a popular cheerleader. With all the consequences of course! You can find Senior Year on Netflix.
About Time
Looking for something light-hearted for the whole family? Then the 2013 British comedy About Time is a lot of fun. 21-year-old Tim finds out that he can time travel and he uses this to direct and influence his own life. Among other things, by arranging a girlfriend for himself. As you can imagine, this only ends up being what he mostly did NOT want, which gives this film a hilarious slant. You can see this film on Pathé Home.
Kissing Booth
Kissing Booth is a wonderful movie to watch with your daughter. There are currently two parts out and part three is in the works! Based on the book series by Beth Reekles, this romantic comedy revolves around Elle and her best friend Lee. They have made rules with each other by which they want to make sure that they will always remain friends. The most important one: don’t fall in love. And of course that’s not going to work out and because of that they run into a lot of challenges to be able to keep their friendship alive anyway. You can find all 3 parts on Netflix.
The Mitchells vs. The Machines
We really enjoyed this movie at home. Katie Mitchell is accepted into the film school of her dreams. With the whole family, Katie drives to the new school under the guise of a road trip. But then the Mitchell family’s plans fall apart when electronic devices all over the world revolt. With the help of two friendly robots, the Mitchells must overcome their problems and learn to work together to save the world. You can find this movie on Netflix.
