Fun outings for a group activity – active outings

We will help you get some inspiration. In our blog series fun outings for group activities, we highlight a theme each time with original outings. This time we give an overview of active outings. Of course you can keep it simple and go bowling and stone grilling, but there is so much more to do in our country!

Glow in the Dark midget golf

Now midget golf is a really typical ’90s activity and can certainly be considered dull. But with glow in the dark golf, an extra element is added to the activity that can certainly lead to hilarity. Sonja has already written a blog about this original miniature golf variant. There are several locations in the country where you can play golf in the dark such as in Scheveningen, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Weert, Middelburg, Eindhoven and Houten.

Survivallen

Clambering with a group through a course of ropes, ditches, fences and other obstacles is sure to get some laughs. Who will be the first to fail to make it across and get wet? How funny do you look with a face full of mud? There are several fun survival locations throughout the country. Poldersport De Kwakel, Outdoor Valley in Rotterdam and 2Sur5 in Wateringen are examples.

Climbing

Do you like the challenge of climbing, but prefer to stay clean? Then go climbing at a climbing park. You can find several challenging climbing parks with different levels of difficulty. So you have the Klimpark SnowWorld in Landgraaf, Klimpark Biesbosch in Hank and in Klimbos Gooi-Eemland in Utrecht and FunForest even has multiple locations in Almere, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Venlo!

This way you select an activity that best suits your group in a city of your preference.

Escape from a real prison

Want to know how inventive your girlfriends are and how far they dare to go? Then get locked in a real prison. With Prison Escape you will experience the ultimate experience of being locked in a real cell, in a real prison, namely the Koepel in Breda. The challenge is to escape in three out of time with the help of other prisoners, corrupt prison guards and your own creativity and guts. Getting out of an escape room

Do you want to stay together as a group and work together to escape? Then you can also get locked up in an escape room. Almost every place in the Netherlands has one or more escape rooms with many different themes. We recently did the room of Het Beleg van Amsterdam by ESC Amsterdam and found it very top notch! You can read about it in our blog where we share our experience with you!

Skiing on a roller coaster

Do you like skiing, but not on the water? Then you can also take a ski workshop on one of the roller tracks in the Netherlands.

For example, Skicentrum Hillegom has fun packages to give the whole group, despite different skin levels, a fun and challenging workshop. But also at Alpine Sports in Den Hoorn and Roundhill in Dordrecht you will find beautiful indoor ski tracks where they can offer a fun group arrangement for a splashing outing for you and your girlfriends.

Tubing

Another highly recommended activity if you want to do something that makes you especially very corny is tubing. Tubing is nothing more and less than sliding down a hill with your buttocks in a large inflatable tube. At one location this is from an outdoor brush track, such as at Outdoor Valley Wintersport in Bergschenhoek, at another location you slide down an indoor snow track, such as at De Uithof in The Hague, and elsewhere the slide is combined with sprinkler systems or you end with a splash in the water, such as at Dutch Water Dreams in Zoetermeer.

Mountain biking

You can also go mountain biking with the group. Both in the area of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and the Veluwe there are many different beautiful mountain bike trails. And for the really sporty ones, the hills in South Limburg are the ultimate challenge.

Water skiing

Another cool activity is water skiing. Now you might think you need a speedboat for that and that you really can’t fit all of you on it at once. But there are also water ski parks on various lakes in the Netherlands that do not work with a boat on the water, but with a cable car. That way you’re all standing cozily on the side watching that one friend who is struggling to hold her own at the moment. Will you do better? Locations where you can water ski from a cableway include Cablepark Aquabest in Best, Wollebrand Cablepark in Wateringen and Wet ‘n Wild in Alphen aan den Rijn.

Suppen and surfing

Is water skiing just a little too cool for you? Then you can also do a supping or wave-surfing workshop with your girlfriends. There are many nice places along the Dutch coast where they offer this group activity. Usually this is at a nice beach club where you can have a barbecue or just eat from the menu. Check out the possibilities at Hart Beach in Scheveningen or Surf and Beach in Katwijk
