The best spots for a bite to eat or a drink
Whether you’re out and about with your partner, a friend, your kids, or just enjoying some alone time—a nice stop for food or drinks is always a treat.
De Bongaardin De Lier, for example, is a truly special place. The tea salon is nestled in the middle of a beautiful garden full of flowers, winding paths, and cozy nooks. The High Tea here is a celebration in itself: fresh bites, beautiful tableware, and everything made with love. The High Wine is also highly recommended, so be sure to bring your best friend for an afternoon of catching up and enjoying the moment.
In Monster, you’ll findHOP: a contemporary, warm spot where everything is freshly prepared. From the cakes and bread to the lemonade, soup, and salads—it all comes from their own kitchen. A place where you can easily linger a little longer with a good book or a cappuccino.
For a cozy stop during a bike ride, I recommend Koffiehuis De Hooiberg in Schipluiden. It has a lovely, old-fashioned charm, with a view of the meadows and often a freshly baked apple pie on the table.
Fancy a day at the beach? Then the Westland beach bars are definitely worth exploring. Favorites among many include Bondi Beachclub, The Coast,Makani Beach, and Elements Beach. Each one is charming, with great food and comfortable lounge sofas to relax on. And for something truly special: at De Pit, after enjoying a delicious pizza, you can relax in a real hot tub—with a view of the sea! Romantic and unique.

What makes the shopping scene in Westland so fun is the mix of local entrepreneurs, unique boutiques, and shops with a story. No run-of-the-mill shopping streets, but rather surprising spots where you can find something truly one-of-a-kind.
The center of Naaldwijk is a delightful place to wander. Stop by Irma Mode, Boho Rebel, or SanneW and be inspired by stylish outfits, accessories, and fashion with character. All in a relaxed atmosphere, without any rushed hustle and bustle.
’s-Gravenzande also offers a wide variety of shops. Think of Charme Mode for an elegant outfit, Bonjour Boutique for trendy must-haves, and Belitz Lingerie for something beautiful to wear under your outfit. Tip: combine your afternoon of shopping with lunch or coffee at the cozy Marktplein.

The Versatile Coast of Westland
With 8 different beach access points, the Westland coast is so diverse that you can experience a different atmosphere every time.
Are you up for some action? Then head to Wato Events in ’s-Gravenzande for spectacular activities like blokarting, power kiting, stand-up paddleboarding, or beach volleyball. Perfect for an active outing with friends or colleagues.
For horseback riding enthusiasts, there’s nothing better than a ride along the surf. At Manege Noordland, you can enjoy a wonderful beach ride (with a guide). Truly a dream outing for horse lovers.
Prefer to relax? Then head for the quieter beach access points like Schelpenpad or Arendsduin. Here you’ll mainly encounter locals enjoying the peace and space. Bring a blanket, a good book, and listen to the sound of the waves.
Dreams Surf Schoolin Ter Heijde is the place to go for surf lessons, whether you’re a beginner or already have some experience. It’s a great way to get active and soak up the ocean vibes.
Heading out with kids? Then choose Vlugtenburg Beach or the beach access point near the Water Tower in ’s-Gravenzande. It’s well-organized, cozy, and kid-friendly here.

If you’re looking for something active
The Westland is bursting with fun outings, even when the weather isn’t cooperating. One of the favorites is The City Food & Fun in ’s-Gravenzande. You can go bowling, play laser tag, play glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, sing karaoke, and then stay for a delicious meal. Ideal for a family outing or a group of friends.
Prefer something cultural? At the Westlands Museum in Honselersdijk, you’ll learn all about the history of horticulture and life in the Westland through the ages. The auction clock is a favorite with young and old alike!
Or how about a day of boating, mini-golf, or picnicking at Paviljoen De Zweth in Wateringen? There’s also a playground for the kids. Perfect for a summer afternoon. Tip: park a bit further away and come by bike, because while it’s beautifully situated, it is a bit out of the way.
And for those who really want something special: rent a colorful Citroën 2CV (one of those old-fashioned “ugly ducks”!) from Eenden Tours Westland. Drive past villages, greenhouses, and meadows and discover the Westland at its most cheerful. Great as a surprise outing or an original gift. Fun Outings with Young Children
There’s plenty to do in Westland for families with children, too.
For example, Plukkerij Framblij in Monster is truly a dream spot. You can pick your own fruit in the greenhouse, pet the bunnies, pick your own flowers, and then enjoy a drink in the cheerful tea garden. Children can play and explore here for hours.
Looking for a farm outing? Just outside Westland, in the municipality of Delfland: At Hoeve Bouwlust in Maasland, you can pet cows, play in the corn maze, follow the barefoot path, and even camp in the summer. The popcorn and homemade ice cream here are also irresistible.
