Eating and Drinking

In De Lier you will find De Bongaard. This is the most special catering location you can think of. De Bongaard is a real tea room with a garden where you can enjoy the best High Tea and High Wine in the country. In fact, when you arrive here you just feast your eyes on all the goodies, spaces and seating they have created here. The entourage is so over the top, it’s absolutely right. But beware: are you going for the High-Tea or High-Wine? Then just make a reservation for a few weeks from now, that’s how popular these are. Also keep in mind that The Bongaard is closed after 5 p.m.

In Monster, you can visit sandwich store HOP. Here you can enjoy great coffee, delicious pastries, sandwiches, high tea, breakfasts and lunch. Everything there is homemade, including the pastries and even the bread!

Or after a nice bike ride sit down on the terrace of Koffiehuis de Hooiberg in Schipluiden.

Shopping

Would you rather go shopping? Then pay a visit to the brocante store De Ouwe Schuur. In this vintage store you will find the most beautiful home accessories. These home accessories they really get from everywhere, so nothing you buy there is dertien in dozen.

Looking for clothing? Irma Mode in Naaldwijk is the fashion experience of the Westland and surrounding area, with even a separate store with quality clothing for kids. Or go in Monster to ByKrijn and It’s me, together they offer 1000m2 of fashion for every man and woman.

Chillen

Want to chill out? Then visit the beach and go long at beach tent De Pit in ‘s-Gravenzande. This beach tent has its own pizza oven as well as a hot tub, so hang back while a delicious pizza is prepared for you. How relaxed do you want it?

Nice and active

Looking for something more active or cool to do? On Ter Heijde you will find Dreams experience: Here you can go for surf lessons, children’s parties but also adult workshops such as powerkiting, longboarding, freerunning, beach games and something less cool, yoga.

Do you like to visit museums? Then the Westlands museum in Honselersdijk is a must! During your visit to the renovated museum, you will be taught about Westland’s history. Everything from the area and from horticulture are gathered there, with a beautiful historical garden. Determine the price of a bunch of flowers yourself at the old auction clock. The changing exhibition highlights a period of Westland’s history.

Another fun location to get active is pavilion De Zweth in Wateringen. Here you can play miniature golf, survival games, pedal boats, canoeing, rent a whisper boat. There is even an indoor playground and trampoline. In addition, you can have a simple bite to eat there. De Zweth is easily reached by bicycle from Rijswijk, for example, and by boat. It is possible to go by car, but keep in mind that parking is limited.

For the kids

Got not only your girlfriends with you, but also the kids in tow? Then you should definitely pay a visit to Plukkerij Framblij in Monster. There you can pick the tastiest fruit in one of the greenhouses.

Then let the kids romp around in the playground or cuddle the bunnies, while you settle down in the cozy tea garden with a delicious cup of tea and homemade cakes.

Or visit Hoeve Bouwlust. Not only a nice campsite, but in summer also a fantastic corn maze (with a different theme every year) and a barefoot path. Just mind zero. The flans under your feet can be cleaned afterwards. As a reward, you get a delicious bowl of popcorn.
