Games to take with you on vacation

Many people have already planned or are busy planning their summer vacation, Always a wonderful prospect! And what could be more fun to do on a long summer evening? Right! A game! In cooperation with Jumbo Play we have made a selection of the most fun games for in the suitcase and on the road! We also like to share our own favorite games for on the road and on vacation.
Games on the go
Going on vacation by car this year? For children, such a long car ride is usually not the most fun. When boredom really sets in, the drive is no longer fun for anyone. But luckily there is a fun game in the bag. Hema has a handy little tin containing no less than 50 games for the road. How much fun is that? Jumbo Play developed the Junior Jan van Haasteren quartet, which is great to play in the car. In addition, they also have the 1000 km card game. Also fun on the road! The many Rubik’s variants are also perfect for in the car. Especially suitable for slightly older children who, for example, get nauseous from reading or looking at a screen while driving. All these games also do well on an airplane!
Games for camping
Are you going camping or a vacation bungalow this year? Then don’t forget to bring some games with you! Fun to do with the family after dinner or for when the weather is bad. With Party & Co you are actually always right. Hilarity guaranteed! There are many different types available, including a junior version. Cow Trade by Ravensburger is a super fun card game. It is a combination of quartet, bullying and smart negotiation. We already loved the traditional version, but the master version is just as much fun. Games like Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan can also come along, of course. And don’t forget the puzzles from Jan van Haasteren and Wasgij. Puzzling together is just as much fun as playing a game together.
Games to play outside
Is the sun shining? Hop, outside everyone! Because there are also all kinds of fun games for outdoors. No inspiration? No worries! Hema has a nice tin containing cards with 50 games for outdoors. Do you have the space? Then take Kubb with you. You won’t run out of games! Adults will also be happy with this throwing game. And how about the game Lustigt from Ikea. The game is simple: both players put on a vest with Velcro and the trick is to dodge as many balls as possible. And how about a giant Jenga game?
Tips from our readers
We recently asked on Instagram what games our readers take with them in the suitcase. That got a lot of great responses! Yahtzee, Qwixx and Skip-Bo are at the top when it comes to favorite vacation games. This is not surprising, since they are small, easy to carry around and relatively short to play. Uno is also a favorite, which always goes with us, by the way! Card games, even the regular ones, do well on vacation anyway! Our readers also recommended Solo, Saboteur, 30 Seconds and Rumikub.
Tips for home
No vacation plans but love games? Then of course we also have tips for you. The advantage of staying at home is that you can choose endlessly from your own stock of games. Earlier we wrote a blog about the best escape games for at home. These games are often a bit more difficult than regular board games, but the fun is no less! And maybe you’ll get some inspiration from our blog the best games for the whole family. Keep those vacations coming!
