Do a stadium tour together!

Is your son as crazy about soccer as you are? Then take a stadium tour of your favorite soccer club. This is the ideal father-son outing! During the stadium tour you will get a look behind the scenes. You get a tour of the dressing rooms and dugouts, walk through the players’ tunnel and get to take a look at the legendary soccer field. There are stadium tours in the Johan Cruijff Arena, the Feyenoord stadium tour,the PSV Experience and many more fun stadium tours!

Men’s night at home

Send the women out the door and have a James Bond marathon together. Or watch another fun movie or series, of course. Have a bowl of chips and some nice drinks and enjoy. Are the ladies not so easily driven away? Then take your son to the cinema and choose a fun or exciting movie.

Entertainment in and around the house

Having fun outside but staying close by? Then fishing can also be a really fun father-son outing. Find a nice ditch to spend a few hours fishing together. Just spend some nice time together. Or hop on a bike together and cycle past places of the past together. Eating ice cream together somewhere, having a cup of coffee or a nice lunch is always fun. In the hectic pace of everyday life, you often don’t get around to having a real conversation. These kinds of outings are perfect for real conversations.

Enjoying sports

Working out with your son is the ultimate father-son outing. Going for a run together or to the gym is already fun, but you can also do something more challenging. Go climbing at a fun climbing gym. There are Clip ‘n Climb locations all over the country. The colors alone make everyone happy! Take a look at the location in Amsterdam. It makes you want to climb! A really cool father-son outing for young and old! Or have fun at Adventure City in Rotterdam! There’s an outdoor and an indoor area so you can enjoy active climbing, zip-lining and free-falling in all seasons and weather conditions. Or go to the beach together for a sporty activity on the water. At Aloha Surf in Scheveningen you can learn to surf. In Kijkduin you can learn kiteboarding at the Kiteboardschool. And you can learn blokarting in IJmuiden at the Blokartschool.

Fun indoor activities

Is the weather a bit disappointing? Then go for an indoor activity! At The City in ‘s-Gravenzande there is plenty to do for a fun father-son outing. Think bowling, Jeu de Boules, Lasergamen, mini golf, pool, darts, VR games and much more. Fancy a little “crazy”? Then visit Bounce Valley together! There are several locations in the Netherlands, such as Delft, Zoetermeer, Aalsmeer, Breda and Middelburg. Or take the craziest pictures in an Instagram museum.

Karting and racing

For men, and so for boys, things can’t go fast enough! So go karting together. At Adventure Eefde in Gelderland, besides spectacular karting (from the age of 12 children are allowed in an adult kart) you can also climb in the climbing forest and go climbing. For the latter you have to be a real daredevil! Kart Circuit Pottendijk in Emmen is the fastest kart track in the Netherlands. You can get up to 70 km per hour here! Another outdoor kart track is Kart Center Zwolle. Do you dare to overtake on this narrow track? Not such a speed demon yourself but interested in motorsports? Then a tour of the Circuit of Zandvoort is definitely recommended! Sometimes you can make a lap of the circuit in your own car. Now that’s a great father-son outing!

For the real daredevils

There are a lot of exciting activities to do in the Netherlands. Earlier we wrote a blog with tips for daredevils. Abseiling from the Euromast for example or drifting in Gouda! But there is much more. A round of climbing park can also be very challenging and exciting. You really shouldn’t be afraid of heights for this! Also fun and immediately a whole weekend: on bushcraft! Learn to survive in the wilderness together with your child. There is one more weekend available this year in October so be quick because it is very popular. It will be a weekend to remember!
